Jean CUNNINGHAM

Jean hired me to teach Modern Dance at UBC for the Winter term,1979. This foundation appontment helped me join McMaster University in 1985. After 30 years there, I am still teaching in 2025 .. mainly in Mexico. I owe much of my career to Jean's trust and support. Dave Wilson.

I remember with love, the wonderful wisdom and good humour that Jean brought to the table (from British Columbia) at many meetings of the very active Dance Committee of the old C.A.H.P.E.R. (now PHE Canada). She will be missed.

She was a very special colleague -- insightful, classy, smart, direct, and a real pioneer for dance education. She was a wonderful role model for me as I had just started teaching at the University of Regina. Those of us in university dance education, value her tremendous contribution.
