Having just recently learned of Mrs. Perry's passing, please allow me to convey to family and friends my sincerest condolences.
I was a grade 6 student in her class at Mutchmore School (63/64) and can state without doubt she was one of the finest teachers I ever met.
I know that Jean made a very strong, positive contribution to the lives of many children, myself included, and that her legacy will live on in those she taught.
I expect Jean could find fault with my spelling and punctuation (never a strong suite with me) but submitted never the less with deep respect and admiration.

I apologize for the lateness of this note, but I only learned of Mrs Perry's passing today. She was my grade 8 teacher at Putnam in 74-75. To say she was my inspiration is an understatement. I changed careers and became a teacher myself 10 years ago. I often ask myself What Would Mrs Perry have done? If I am ever half the teacher she was, then I will have had a full life and fulfilling career. I will always try to pass along Mrs Perry's lessons to my students. I'm so glad I had the chance to exchange letters with her two years ago.

Our condolences go out to Jeans family. The ladies of the tennis group at the Ottawa Athletic Club were very sorry to hear about Jean. We hadn't played with her for awhile but have good memories of games with her in the past. She was always friendly and a good player and we will certainly miss her.

Hi - I arrived in Ottawa in Grade 8 from Newfoundland and Labrador, with all the wrong clothes and a funny accent. She helped me adjust and gave me a wicked gift. Confidence. I will remember her always.

Very sad news for so many of us. Jean especially was a wonderful friend to my mother who appreciated having another UK emigre friend in Canada. My condolences to the family.
