Kim and Patrick,
I know that losing a parent is one of the hardest times to endure. Even though I never met your mother, I know she was a great person in the reflection of you and your wonderful family. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
With Love,

Dear Kelly Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. Even though I could not be with you I was with you in spirit. Christmas Eve walking my little sheltie Lucy late at night in Columbus I stopped to look in the sky. Thinking of Jean and a message I heard came from the Blessed Virgin Mary while in Medjugorje. On Christmas Eve more souls are released from purgatory into heaven than any other day of the year. Jean a had a direct path right to the gates of heaven.

My daughter is learning about geology this month in her 3rd grade science class. The last lesson was about different kinds of rocks and how they are impacted by time and pressure. This week was about various types of soil and how their composition of weathered rocks and humus provides life to plants. The lesson I will teach my daughters is that their grandmother was the rock of our family. My Dad worked two jobs to help to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. The responsibility for raising five boys fell mainly to my Mom. She worked hard to provide a loving stable home life. She taught us about faith, hard work, fairness and love and fiercely protected her sons' best interests. Even rocks, especially when they are five foot two inches tall, eventually succumb to time and pressure. From her life's legacy grows a loving family of five daughter in-laws, 10 grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and members of our extended family. Thank you for remembering my Mom and helping us to commemorate a life well lived.

Renee, Jayne and I loved Jean Kelly. She had a way of making you feel welcomed and loved. We will forever cherish the memories we had with her and the whole family, who made us feel like part of the clan. We are saddened that we are out of town and can't be there with you all.
