To all Jean's family I extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mother and grandmother. I worked with Jean in the same office for many years and during that time I admired her work ethic and tenacity which was recognized and respected by all who knew her. She was also quick with wit and humour which added to the office atmosphere. She will be sadly missed but not forgotten. Cherish the memories.
I share your sorrow.

Girls, I was sorry to hear about your mother's death. You can be very proud of the way you took care of her.

I am also sorry that I won't be able to attend her memorial because I will be in Palm Springs by the first. Judy-Anne and I were talking though and thought it would be nice to get together for dinner when I get back--sometime around Easter. I'll be in touch then. Love, Christianne

Dear Glenna, Merrill, Peggy, Judy & Families: I was sorry to learn that your Mom has passed away. I worked with Jean for many years at CN and we spent many lunch hours playing whist and had lots of laughs during these friendly competitions. We would always cut for partners and I would hope that I'd be partnered up with Jean or Donna (Hall-Pike). We loved to "beat up" on the guys. I also owed your Mom a real debt of gratitude. When I was due to return to work after maternity leave in 1981, she referred me to a wonderful babysitter - Mamie Burke - who lived conveniently for me, on my route to work. Mamie agreed to babysit Jackie (who was five months old at the time) and continued to babysit until her passing. Jackie was by this time in Grade 7. Jean was a very smart and independent lady with an infectious sense of humor who was always ready to help out. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know your mother and to have visited her this last fall at Dickensfield with Justin Richards (another retired CN'er who had also worked with Jean for many years). Sincere Condolences,

Dear Jeans Family,
I am so sorry of your loss of your dear Mom. She was such a light in my world, her quick wit, her special laugh and her endearing spirit were such an addition to my day. I think she just didn't want to hear me sing happy birthday to her "off key" again. I have a couple of pictures that didn't get into her album. Please let me know if you would like them. Thinking of you all. With deepest sympathy, Liz Bartek, TA CCD
