Jean C. Kistler (nee Stuard) Jean C. Kistler, of Springfield, PA, recently of Lima Estates, Media, PA, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at age 85. She was born June 6, 1927 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Charles W. and Adele (Carson) Stuard. She grew up in the Ardmore funeral home owned by her family. She attended Lower Merion township schools where she met Hugh Kistler, a track and soccer star. In high school they were voted Best Looking Couple. They married when Hugh returned from serving in the Navy during WWII. He preceded her in death in 2005. After raising her children, Jean held various clerical positions with Springfield Township Schools, Jerry B. Delfiner Co., and Pennsylvania Crusher. She gained experience as a travel planner which enabled her to travel, including a memorable trip to China. In retirement, Jean and Hugh enjoyed spending time at their beloved hunting camp in Potter County, PA. She was known for her warmth and good nature and had a special affinity for dogs who loved her in equal measure. Survivors: sons Bruce W. and Douglas S., daughters Carol A. Ritter, Valerie J. Ailes and Lydia L. Anderson, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Memorial Service: was held, Monday February 18, 2013, The Covenant United Methodist Church, 212 W. Springfield Rd. (Saxer and Springfield Rds.), Springfield, Pa. 19064. Internment: private. In lieu of flowers: contributions in her name may be made to the above named church. STUARD F.H.-Ardmore
