Jean Marotte

Jean N. (Hill) Marotte passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014. She was born in Springfield to the late Mary Slowick and James Hill and lived in West Springfield until 1994 when she retired to Fort Pierce, Florida with her husband Al. Jean was a graduate of West Springfield High School and worked as a crossing guard for the Town of West Springfield for many years. Jean was a communicant of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in W. Spfld. and St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, Fl. She was very active in both churches. In retirement she enjoyed exercise classes, golfing, Mahjong and Bingo. Jean leaves her beloved husband of 64 years, Alfred Marotte, her loving children, Thomas Marotte of Springfield, Barbara Patruno of Agawam, Alfred Marotte, III of Agawam and John Marotte of New Milford, CT. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. There will be an 11AM Funeral Home Service, Saturday, May 17th at the TOOMEY-OBRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, May 16th 4-6PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle School, 47 Pine Street, W. Spfld., MA 01089.
