Jean M. McCagg, 66, of Stonington Ct , passed away on September 24, 2023. At the Westerly Hospital where she lost her battle with cancer She was born on November 6, 1956, in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Jean, also known as Jean McCagg, was a kind-hearted individual with a warm personality. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jean had a knack for striking up conversations and could talk for hours if given the chance.

In her career, Jean worked as a housekeeper for various hotels in the area before eventually finding her place at Foxwoods Resort Casino in the food and beverage department. She took pride in her work and was known for her dedication and attention to detail.

Jean had a love for the simple things in life. She enjoyed taking walks on warm summer nights through Stonington Burgh, admiring the shop windows and strolling down to the town dock. She cherished moments spent with her mother, taking rides to the beach and watching the breathtaking sunsets over the bourough. Jean also found solace in solving word search puzzles, always keeping a large book by her side. Country music was her favorite genre, and she would often take drives while listening to her favorite songs.

Jean is survived by her mother, Jane McCagg, of Stonington, and her brother, George Gordon McCagg Jr., also of Stonington. She is also survived by her son, Robert Bennett, his wife Wendy Bennett, and their son Caleb Bennett, all of Westerly. Jean had a large extended family with many cousins who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, George Gordon McCagg, and her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" McCagg Sister

A memorial service will be held in Jean's honor at Calvary Church in Stonington Borough on October 21, 2023, at 11:00 am. Following the service, a small gathering will take place at the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society in Stonington Borough. The Buckler & Johnson Funeral Home in Westerly, RI, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jean will be remembered for her kind spirit, her love for her family, and her enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
