Jean McCully Obituary
Imogene Elrod "Jean" McCully, age 84, entered into rest Friday, July 25, 2014, at Margaret Dozier Hospice House at Big Bend Hospice.
Jean was born in Sparta, Tennessee to her parents, the late Orbe and Irene Elrod. She received her nursing degree from the University of Tennessee, where she met and married the love of her life, Dr. Alvie Carl McCully on June 30, 1954. They recently celebrated their "Diamond" 60th wedding anniversary. In 1963 they moved their young family to Tallahassee, where "Mac" joined Dr's Larry Smiths and Robert Webster Urology Practice. Thus began Jean's long and everlasting legacy with Tallahassee. Jean loved giving back to her community, she did this with her endless involvement with countless organizations, which included Big Bend Hospice Founder and Board Member, TMH Auxiliary and Gala, Springtime Tallahassee, Boys and Girls Club, just to name a few. She was also a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Jean was also preceded in death by two children, John and Jay McCully; a sister, Geneve Edmonds and a brother, Bobby Elrod.
Survivors include her husband Dr. A.C. McCully; four children, Bob McCully, Patti Trudeau and husband Mark, Bill McCully and wife Terry McCully and and Mari McCully all of Tallahassee; six grandchildren, Donald, Erin, Wayne, Patrick, Brian, Shannon; three great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Ryan and Olivia; two sisters, Sue Berry of Kansas City and Dorothy Munoz of Pasadena, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Blvd., Tallahassee, 32308 or TMH Foundation, 1331 E. 6th Ave. Tallahassee, 32303.

We did not know Jean that will, but since we are related to Bil & Terry McCully and had dinner with her and her husband , she was very nice person to be with. Now she is is with God and we Know her family miss's her with all their hearts.
