Jean Pagel

Pagel, Jean Jean R. Pagel, age 76, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2016. She was born to Wm. and Mary Riedeman near Fond Du Lac, WI. She derived her life-long love of gardening and nature from her farming background. Jean is missed by Daniel, her husband of 45 years, and children Lynn (Kevin) Lascola of Columbia MD, and Matt (Brianne Beisner) Pagel of Davis, CA. Her greatest joy came from visits with her 4 Grandboys, Daniel, Zachary and Andrew Lascola and Liam Pagel. Jean is survived by her sister Dorothy (Harry, dec'd) Hall of Bonita Springs, Fl., brother Roger (Ann) Riedeman of Rosendale, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Jean was an elementary teacher for 14 years in the Fox Point / Bayside school system before becoming a full time Mom. Her love of gardening resulted in her becoming a children's educator at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in the 1990's. For the past 15 years, Jean's was a children's educator and field trip coordinator at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in nearby Bayside. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay on Saturday, June 4 - visitation at 9:30 AM followed by a service at 10:30. Friends are invited to tour the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center following the Memorial Service. Bring your walking shoes. Memorials in Jean's name to the Church, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, or Schlitz Audubon Nature Center would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
