Jean Marie (Malafronte) Saccoccio

December 16, 1935 - February 21, 2025

Jean Marie (Malafronte) Saccoccio, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born in Providence, RI, to Doris (Manchester) DiMoia and Louis "Duke" Malafronte, Jean lived a full and beautiful life. In October of 1955, she married the love of her life, Salvatore Saccoccio, and together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Jean leaves behind her beloved children: Salvatore Saccoccio Jr., Jane Anthony, and Lori Roberts; her devoted sisters, Mary Louise Gerritsen and Karen Manchester; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Audrey Calabrese, Stephen Calabrese, Sheena McGurn, Salvatore Saccoccio III, William Saccoccio, Carly Saccoccio, Kevin Devine, Janine Anthony, Ruby Calabrese, Colton Calabrese, Alessandra Saccoccio, and Luca Saccoccio. She was also loved by her daughter-in-law, Debra Saccoccio, and sons-in-law, Raymond Anthony and Steve Roberts.

Jean had a gift for making friends wherever she went. As a talented and dedicated hairdresser, she formed lifelong connections with those she met. She was passionate about many hobbies, including bridge, golf, tennis, and gardening, but her greatest love was painting. Jean and Sal traveled the world together, often joined by her sisters, enjoying the opera, theater, and the beauty of different cultures.

Jean lived a blessed life, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Honoring Jean's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. She asked that family and friends remember her with love in their hearts and through the memories they shared.

Unfortunately, I just happen to see this notice online. I decided to look up Jean again on Google today and seen her passing notice. We shared many times each doing the Scituate Art Festival in RI and taking trips to Boston MA to deliver her hand painted canes she used to do back home in Cranston RI where we each lived. Over the years we each had moved down here to Florida and I had only spoken to her one time by phone after I had moved here myself 22 years ago. Had not even gotten the chance to see her here as she was living in So. Sarasota and myself in Bradenton. Sadly, all this time went by as I was always hoping to have seen her, but that never happened. Rest well Jean.
Paint the heavens now...
