Jean T. Shoop, 88, of Ellsworth, PA, formerly of Coraopolis, PA died Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born August 30, 1922 in Millvale, PA, a daughter of the late John and Jane Thompson Grubb. Mrs. Shoop was a 1940 graduate of Coraopolis High School. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Montour Hardware, a Secretary for Paymasters Office in Dravo and a Bank Teller for Union National Bank in Coraopolis, PA. Mrs. Shoop was a member of First Baptist Church of Coraopolis and later attended the Bentleyville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandson, Evan. Surviving are three sons, Robert E. Shoop, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, John W. Shoop of Butler County, and Paul A. Shoop (Debbie) of Beallsville; two grandchildren, Evan P. Shoop of Beallsville, PA and, Katie Jean Shoop of Glenwillard, PA ; one sister, Grace Stone of Coral Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews and many special friends and family members who helped in her care. On June 8, 1951 she married Robert E. Shoop, Sr. who died February 19, 1978. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are two brothers, Warren and Arthur Grubb and a sister, Catherine Grubb. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA and Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of service in Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, 865 5th Avenue, Coraopolis, PA with Rev.
