Jean White did everything well. She was a loving wife, a supportive mother and grandmother and a honest and ethical person. She was an intellectual par excellence. She was also our friend of many years. We traveled together to India, toured Wisconsin, Wyoming, Utah and Acapulco, Mexico. We enjoyed her company as it always included stimulating conversation and pleasant commentary. In reality we lost our friend some years back but not our concern for her and the family. We send our heartfelt condolences to Steve, Barbara, John and the grandchildren. May God look out for you all and bless you. Earl and Rita Bakalars

I was the first woman on the Board of Corrections. When I went in the Legislature,I suggested Jeans name to the Governor. She was a great woman and a dear friend. She was a big help to me while I was doing womens issues in the legislature and a member on the Status of Women. (I think she was also.) We tried to tie our geneology together to see if we couldn't be relatives. I would have loved to have her as my sister, or cousin. The Democrats have lost a dear member, as we have all lost a dear friend.

Jean was a special friend to me. We shared an interest in organ music and roomed together at several national organ conventions. I so admired her keen intellect, her interest in the arts, and her passion for Utah politics. I will miss her very much.
