COOK, Jeanne (nee Steacy) Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, November 21st, 2002, after a brief illness, in her 89th year. As well as being a devoted mother and grandmother, Jeanne was an avid reader, a great enthusiast for all the wonders of life. She was an active member of the King's Daughters and Christ Church, Gananoque, and she was a member of the Gananoque Curling Club. Beloved wife of the late Irvine Cook ("Cookie"). Jeanne was predeceased by her dear sister Vera Steacy. She is survived by her sisters Eleanor Delaney of Ottawa; Carol (George) Leggo of Gananoque; Ruth Riggs of Kingston; and her brother Howard (Liz) Steacy of Napanee. She was a loving mother to Don Cook, Barrie; Diane (David) Moon, Blaine, Washington State; Barbara (Jim) Clark, Ottawa; Carolyn Cook, Kingston; Linda (Jim) Jack, Kingston; and Andy (Yvonne) Cook, Rockport. Jeanne will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Rob, Tim, Jamie, Adrian, Ryan, and Shelby, and by her many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home, 63 Garden Street, Gananoque on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Christ Anglican Church on Tuesday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. with Canon Alex Wakeling officiating. The family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at the ICU and Davies 4 Wing of the Kingston General Hospital. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Jeanne's memory.
