Wow, was just thinking about Kathleen the other day! Kathleen was one of my favorites while working with her at the National Institutes of Health. She was the kindest and most thoughtful in so many ways. She was a very conscientious worker and she was meticulous to the finest of details. I learned so much from her. She was definitely a part of the good old days. Wish she was here to reminisce. Truly loved her! Thank you for this opportunity.

To Kathleen and her family,
I never saw Kathleen sad or depressed, through tough times at work and in her life, she was always a sunny, vibrant person. We talked about cats, and shared cartoons and cards through email and in person. She will live in my memories as a smiling, brave, caring, and wonderful person.

Mr. & Mrs. Howe, John & Sylvia,
I received John's email last week. It has taken me this long to respond, maybe because I needed time to process the news. Kathleen was my "older sister". She invited me into your family when I was only 19 years old. She "loaned" me her parents when mine were so far away, took care of me when I was sick, and, took me into her home.
Kathleen and I talked on the phone soon after her diagnosis for a couple of hours. We laughed and cried and reminisced. I heard about the entire family just as if we were having a family reunion of sorts.
I will miss my friend, my sister.

Dearest Kathy,
I can't believe I will never talk to you again. I always enjoyed calling you and talking about what ever popped into our heads! You were a very special person and I really miss you! The kids are very excited to take over the care of your cats. They have it all planned out who is going to bond with who. You were always great with animals. You were right about Sylvia getting Tassey. They adore each other and they have you to thank for that. Thank you for being such a great sister n' law. I love you and will miss you very much!

Kathleen is with our Heavenly Father now and no longer suffering. She is in a better place than most. I worked with Kathleen at the NIH for a number of years. May God Bless the family during this time of bereavement.

Kathleen will always be one of my fond memories here at the NIH. Kathleen and I worked together for years and I also had the opportunity to serve as her Section Chief. She was one of the kindest and compassionate people you could ever know. Always willing to give a helping hand and lend a leaning ear. She will definitely be missed me. I use to kid her about her New York flair, she never lost that. My sympathy goes out to the family. Ken Bond
