Jeanne Jensen Obituary
Mrs. Jensen was born on August 15, 1924, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Toledo, Ohio and college at Michigan State University. Jeanne worked for Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan and it was there she married her husband, Norris on September 25, 1947.
They moved to Ventura in 1950 and Jeanne worked for the Star-Free Press and as a teacher's aide for special education students at Washington Elementary School.
Jeanne was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ventura and was an auxiliary volunteer at the Community Memorial Hospital gift shop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Jensen in 1999.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons, Chris (Sandy) Jensen of Summerville, South Carolina and David (Maja) Jensen of San Francisco; grandchildren, Hadley Jensen of Summerville, South Carolina, Lindsey (Todd) Kubli of Hilliard, Ohio and Todd (Lindsey) Jensen of Hobe Sound, Florida; and great grandchildren, Sterling and Delaney Jensen. She is also survived by her brother, Pete (Jean) Smith of Brentwood, Tennessee.
To Jeanne friendship meant the world, she was surrounded by caring friends and neighbors who helped her with many tasks and with whom shared many good times. Her sons wish to thank everyone who was so caring and helpful.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Ventura with the Reverend Charles Simmons officiating. Burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, on a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Project Understanding, 43 East Vince Street, Ventura, CA, 93001, or Caregivers, 1765 Goodyear Avenue #205, Ventura, CA, 93003, or to First United Methodist Church, 1338 East Santa Clara Avenue, Ventura, CA, 93001.

On behalf of my sister Laura and I, I'd like to express my sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom. Gosh, I remember her and your dad being so very, very kind to me -- to our whole family -- when we were kids. Your dad dug deep into those pockets and always came up with licorice, and your mom was never far away with a big smile on her face. You know, I don't think I ever heard an unkind word from her. I'm grateful that she was part of my life, and of my parents lives. What a wonderful group of friends the Questers were! Hugs to you, dear Jensen boys!

Such very fond memories of your family, David. I can't think about any of you without feeling the warmth of your Grandmother Nina's smile, seeing your dad's mischievious grin, and hearing the the laughter and fun whenever the Gundersons and the Jensens got together in Irene, South Dakota. Your parents were a matched set of kindness and fun. I'm so glad to known each of them. May they rest in peace together!

Jeanne and Norris bring back the fondest of memories for our family. From the time they moved to Ventura in 1950 there have been shared family times in church and the community that have enriched all our lives. They were a very special couple who shared their life with many cheerfully and willingly. We miss them and will always remember them fondly. Our sympathy to you all and our prayers for God's love to sustain you as you make this adjustment to life without your mom.

What a wonderful person Jeanne was. We enjoyed visiting with her when we were in California. She and Jake were quite a couple, both wonderful people.

My family moved to Eva St in 1983 and Norris and Jeanne were the grandparents some of the children did not have. We would take a yearly photo in their backyard at the end of the summer. She was a very sweet woman who brought joy to so many people. She will be missed but joyfully reunited with Norris.

We were saddened to hear of Jeanne's passing yet thankful for being blessed to know her and her late husband Jake. Heaven is receiving one sweet and wonderful human soul! We have known the Jenkens for over 22 years as their neighbors on Eva street. We used to love talking to Jeanne - like a favorite Aunt to us. She can now join Jake - TRY to join in on what ever conversation he surely is having with some other soul!! Rest in peace - The Douglas Family
