GREENSBORO — Jeanne S. Phillips, 84, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at church. Interment will be private.
Jeanne is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Guyon L. Phillips; son, Robert G. Phillips and wife Terri; daughters, Elizabeth P. Winstead and husband Bo, and Susan P. Townsend and husband Tom; seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
Jeanne was born in Little Rock, AR and graduated from the University of South Carolina where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and is a life member of the USC Alumni Association. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed hiking with her husband on the Appalachian Trail and completed the Georgia to Maine trail in 1988.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 1000 W. Friendly Ave. Greensboro, NC 27401 or Twin Lakes Memory Care Center, Heritage Dr., Burlington, NC 27215.
Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel is assisting the Phillips family.
