Maria Chidzik Obituary
Maria (Syrewicz) Chidzik, 93, Formerly of Trenton, N.J. died on Monday, November 28, 2005 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was born on April 15, 1912 in Poland. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel Chidzik, in February of 1986. Maria worked for New Jersey Porcelain in Trenton. She was a former member of St. Hedwigs Catholic Church in Trenton, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miller Heights. Maria was also a member of the Polish American Veterans Auxiliary in Trenton. Maria enjoyed to sew and was known to have quite a green thumb. Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Theresa, wife of Michael J. OConnell of Bethlehem Township; sons, Henry Chidzik, husband of Valeria of Trenton, N.J. and Walter Chidzik, husband of Jean of Milford, Del.; seven grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren. Maria was also predeceased by her son, Francis and grandson, James. Services: Services are under the guidance of Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem. A visitation will be held 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, December 3 in Holy Family Manor Chapel, 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in the chapel. Interment 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005 in St. Hedwigs Cemetery, Trenton, N.J. Contributions: may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, First St. Bethlehem Township, 18020; Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, 8018 or St. Hedwigs Catholic Church 872 Brunswick Ave. Trenton, NJ 08638.

I spent some time with your Mom when I came for Jenna's Confirmation several years ago. She gave me the grand tour of her new apartment and I told her how much I liked "Galumpgies" and "perogies", (Even though I was Italian)!I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and her obvious dedication to the Catholic Church as we spoke. I am sure she is watching you from heaven, happy to be with her Lord.
