I knew her briefly through Kenny during latter high school and early college. I remember a very kind person.

That is Percy Quin State Park in McComb, Mississippi.

Jeannine worked at Pittman Elementary as our assistant principal. We all loved her. I never heard her say a harsh or unpleasant word to any adult or student. My favorite memory of her was our faculty inservice trips to Percy Quit Park in Mississippi. She was a formidable trivia opponent that amazed all of us with her knowledge. These faculty trips glued us together as a faculty family. Susan Combs

So sorry to see this. I knew Jeannine as a fellow principal. I know she was a go-getter in retirement because she approached me for a donation to one of her causes. I couldn't refuse her.

Jeannine was such a dynamic contributor to our FOC tour guide class. Her enthusiasm for history and getting the stories right while entertaining was a great example and leadership.

As my mom - - Edith - - said she was a surrogate member of our family. The Levitt´s and the Ellis´s moved to Terrytown together, and we lived across the street from each other. To me "Neanie" was like a big sister. While she babysat for us as children, she became a dear friend, albeit one we didn´t see nearly enough, as adults. Her smile, her passion, and her positive attitude will be missed. My heart goes out to Darrell, Jeff and "Bunny."

She was a true educator, whether it was in a school setting, or a historical setting, or with animals. During my years in Jefferson Parish Schools, we met at meetings & in-services. When I moved to Bay St. Louis, I would run into her in some of the shops in town. I haven´t seen her in a while, but I definitely feel that she will be missed as a mentor in the education of history & as a leader in administration. Condolences to her husband & extended family.

My heart is broken over the loss of Neanie (Jeannine), my dear friend and surrogate daughter. May she rest in peace and her spirit continue to live!
