Jeff David Albers

Jeff David Albers, 63, passed away Wednesday February 7th surrounded by three generations of loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Michelle; his mother Muriel and siblings Alison and John; his children Josh, Meredith, Hilary and Emily; and his favorite people, his grandchildren Henze and Dale. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his father George Arthur Albers, and his eldest brother Scott Alan Albers.

Jeff was born in Champaign, IL, with his family eventually relocating to the St. Louis metro region, where he stayed most of his life. He earned a BA from Mizzou in Columbia, MO. While attending college, he met his wife and started his family. Upon graduation he and his growing family relocated back to St. Louis while he established his career in IT, going on to work as a contractor under many job titles, most notably data architect. His true calling did not come till 2018 when he finally graduated to Bestefar (Norwegian for grandfather). At the beginning of the COVID pandemic, he relocated back to Columbia, MO, this time to grandchildren, excelling in his new role, and to retire with his wife.

Jeff was known to love the beach, roadtrips, LOTR, musicals, Dungeons & Dragons and camping. He enjoyed folk songs and ballads, often singing around the campfire or floating down the spring fed rivers in southern Missouri on family trips. Before smartphones, he always had a book in his hand. A husband, a father, a bestefar, a son, a brother, a fun uncle, a cousin and a friend, he is dearly missed.

His family invites all who cared for him to a Celebration of Life on April 27, 2024 Noon to 4 PM at Laumeier Sculpture Park's Estate House, 12580 Rott Road St. Louis, MO 63127.
