In memory of
Joanne Barrett
June 4, 2022
I was Jeff's girlfriend when we both went to school in Boston, he at Berklee and me at Katie Gibbs. I have so many really great and fun memories of my year in Boston with him. I consider him one of the loves of my life, and a big heartbreak.
I saw Jeff for the last time when I was engaged to my now-husband of 33 years, when Jeff came and played in Phoenix, where I now live, with the Michael Brecker Band. I was glad my husband got to meet Jeff.
Every few years I would google Jeff to follow his career. Last night I googled him and was saddened to hear of his death three years ago.
My condolences to his family and his friends. Jeff really was a wonderful guy.
