Jeffery Lynn Castleberry

Jeffery Lynn Castleberry, 63, of Lockhart, passed away peacefully on the morning of April 18, 2023 after a short, but valiant battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on April 28, 1959 in Dallas, Tx. He attended school at Northwood in Shreveport, La. As a young adult, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he worked as an EA-6 Avionics Technician. Following his military service he lived in several places, but spent years in Abilene where he worked for U.S. Brass. He and his little brother, Kevin, were well-known in the area for their work in the plastering business. He most recently worked as a realtor in the Lockhart area.

Jeff enjoyed the stage and performed many roles in a few different community theatres, including ACT. He also played a small role in a big screen movie in the late 90's. He was a natural entertainer and loved to host his friends, cook gourmet meals, and answer trivia questions. He is known for his quick wit and unfiltered humor and views of the world.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Coleman; mother Sandra Kelley; father Charles Castleberry; grandparents D.J. and Margaret McGough; brothers Randall Castleberry, Kevin Castleberry, and Charles Glenn Castleberry; and sisters Camille Dukes and Jennifer Castleberry.

Survivors include his son Anthony and wife Amber of the Metroplex; brothers Jody Crafton and Robert Castleberry of Abilene; Sisters Tammy Wolford-McLean and husband Ernie of Merkel; Sherri Ball of Cross Plains; Tina Wyatt and husband Curtis of Cross Plains; Dana Miller and husband Ron of Abilene; sister in law Monica Castleberry of Burleson; step-siblings Ray Dukes and Tanya Gannaway of the Abilene area. A host of nieces and nephews and extended family; and a special friend, Ellen Massey of Lockhart.

At Jeff's request, no services will be scheduled. He chose to donate his body to the Anthropology Department at Texas State.

His family will gather at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22nd at 3718 Enchanted Rock Rd in Abilene. Friends are welcome to stop by and share memories and condolences.
