Jeffery Tant Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2025.
Jeffery Mark Tant, 59, passed away on August 12, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama. Born on October 26, 1965 in Columbus, GA, Jeff lived a life marked by resilience, creativity, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Jeff was a man of many talents and passions. Before returning to Phenix City, he worked in Cape Coral, Florida for Williamson and Sons Marine Construction under the guidance of "Big Daddy," who remained a cherished friend and mentor throughout his life. His work ethic and loyalty left a lasting impression on those he worked with.

A man of strong faith, Jeff prayed daily and often shared prayers and inspirational messages with family and friends through Facebook and personal messages. Despite facing many challenges throughout his life, he never lost his unwavering belief in God. His spiritual strength was a source of comfort not only to himself but also to those around him.

Jeff found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing guitar from his cherished collection for his beloved dog Miss Dixie, painting inspirational pictures to gift to friends and family, fishing along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in pursuit of the elusive world's largest bass, and tending to his garden while feeding birds and squirrels. He had a special love for football-cheering passionately for Alabama and the Denver Broncos-and spent countless weekends watching games with enthusiasm.

One of Jeff's greatest joys was supporting favorite drivers at East Alabama Motor Speedway. He was an avid fan of the Dirty 30 Crew: Timmy Bosley #30, Tim Bosley #30OG, and Lightning Lane Herring #779. As their biggest supporter, Jeff proudly recruited new fans wherever he went. His presence at the track was as spirited as it was loyal.

Jeff is survived by his loving partner Cathy Hall; sisters Janet Tant, Joni Bosley (Tim), and Jessica Winowich; nieces and nephews Michael Rios, Jackie Rios(Branden Kent), Josh Rios(Danielle), Ashley Coleman (Tony), and Timothy Bosley(Stormy); as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who brought him much pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Denney and father John C. Tant Jr., and his special Aunts: Opal Jordan and Mary Ann Smith, whose memories he carried with him always.

Jeff will be remembered as a loving partner, brother, son, uncle, and friend-a man who offered encouragement freely and helped others whenever he could. His kind words brightened many days; his music filled quiet moments with warmth; his faith inspired hope; and his presence brought comfort.

May Jeffery Mark Tant's memory bring peace to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on August 17, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Believers in Action Church 914 17th Ave. . Family will receive visitors after service in the fellowship hall.

The last message of many that you sent me. I will forever cherish our talks, messages and time spent together. You had a way of seeing the unseen, hearing the unheard and understanding the misunderstood. Despite the pain you always made sure others knew how loved they were, so despite my pain I will push through, because I know that is what you would have wanted. Love you Unc.... Until we meet again...

To my two sisters, I love you both dearly and we will get through this together. Jeff wouldn't want us sitting around crying, whew that's hard not too! We have to be strong for him! He was a good and kind brother, who could be a pain in the butt, but he will always be remembered with love and laughter. I love you baby brother, always, save me a spot in the circle,
