Jeff was an amazing person, to say the very least. His humor and humility were like nothing I have met in another person. I had the pleasure of his friendship and his kindness will definitely live on in my heart, as I know it will live in the hearts of all who had the opportunity to know him.

To Jeff’s family: I am so sorry for your loss. I just want to thank you for sharing this beloved man with us for so many years over the radio. The amount of cards and letters you received is only a drop in the bucket of the number of lives Jeff has touched over the years. It’s a testament to his life and the way he lived that strangers want to reach out to you and tell you how much they loved this man. How many people can say that? That is a true measure of a life well lived. That’s our Jeff.

What a bright shiny light of a person. My favorite memory is him driving me around his old neighborhood telling me the stories of another life he had lived, a long time ago. A crazy neighbor and the bar and around the corner. He could really tell a story. What a life he lived. What a legacy. It's hard to believe he isn't just a phone call or text away. I will miss him desperately.

The struggle of losing someone is unique to everyone. The struggle of losing someone who so many felt they knew and had a connection to, multiplies that loss by so much. The world is different without Jeff in it. However, the world is better to have had him in it for the time it did. The imprint he left on so many hearts and lives will not be lost or forgotten. They are permanent reminders of an amazing man who selflessly gave his all to so many. Rest easy, your life made a difference beyond simple comprehension. You are loved.

Just like everyone else, I've listened to and loved Jeff since the beginning of The Point. Jeff also worked for a time at Red 104.1, a local jazz station, where he introduced me to Jaime Cullem, Joss Stone, Erin Bode, and more. I appreciate so much more music now because of Jeff and I'll forever be grateful. Jeff was the most genuine and sweetest man; when I met him, he, unasked, embraced me in a warm hug. All of St. Louis is a better place for the gift of having Jeff Burton in its lives. You will be terribly missed!

Dear Burton Family,

Thank you for sharing Jeff with us!

I have listened to Jeff since high school when he was on with Trish and Thom West (RIP Thom). I feel like I knew him and he was my favorite part of the Rizzuto Show. He was definitely a man of the people and he treated everyone with the utmost respect and dignity.

Thank you Jeff for helping other people live, even in death, by donating your body to the National Body Donor Program. You are an inspiration

Theres nothing i can say that hasn't already been said thousands of times. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff but after listening to him on the radio for 15+ years I feel like I knew him, and like he was a friend. My heart hurts and it doesn't seem real. I can't even imagine how his friends and family are feeling. I hope peace finds you all soon. Thank you Jeff for being such an amazing human being, and showing the world what an impact we can have by just being kind. Rest easy, even though you didn't deserve to go out this way, and you deserved to live a long happy healthy life, you've earned your rest.

The way your morning starts sets the tone for the rest of the day. Jeff and his quick wit, being a part of the Rizz Show, made tons of people start their days with laughter. He helped turn so many bad days into good days. That’s a priceless gift. He will be so missed.

Jeff the one time I meet you was a Rizz Show day at the ballpark. I told you that my father had cancer and was able to beat it and I said you could to, although you are no longer with us I still believe that to be true. By donating your body in a hopes to find a cure for cancer or Chron’s you are beating those diseases.

I have been a fan of Jeff since his time in Springfield. His afternoons on the Thom & Jeff show was when he really got to explore his creativity as a host; and in true Jeff fashion he got in trouble a few times. I thank The Point for allowing him to come back and be a part of the morning crew. It allowed us more time to hear of his adventures outdoors with Eloise, or out on his bike. It also made us aware of his long-time battle with Crohn’s and how he kept a positive perspective through the illness. Jeff’s joy of going to ‘work’ could be heard in his voice, in his quick delivery of an inappropriate joke or music that he loved. We usually learned about songs that triggered memories when he was chosen to blast them into headphones during Matchup with Moon. He was the one who did the ‘Crap on Celebrities’ segment of the show and it doesn’t sound right with Tony doing it now. It’s nothing against him, but there is something gone now without Jeff’s input. I got to say hi to Jeff & Tony as they left for the Walk of Shame punishment. Tony couldn’t have lost the game with a better partner to walk all those miles. I find myself already going through old podcasts to hear his voice. I will always regret not going up to actually talk to him, always. To the ladies of the Burton family, stay strong. You could hear the pride in his voice when he talked about you. Juli, you are a rock to be able to hold it together during this time. Give extra love to Eloise & Hazel. I hope the pain of your loss eases and you remember well the kind man that is your Dad, husband, or Coworker. That’s Our Jeff. Take care.

I never met Jeff in person but he made me laugh daily with his dad jokes, quick one liners and just a positive, kind and amazing personality that just clicked with the rest of the guys on the show. He will be forever missed and the show just won’t be the same without that sense humor from Jeff. I hope he’s at peace and glad he’s pain free. He fought hard till the very end and will never be forgotten. RIP Jeff!
