Ann.....Carol and I just learned of Jeff's passing. We are so sorry for your loss. We remember when we we bought our first home in Brooklyn Park and met the two of you as our first neighbors. We will forever remember those memories which included drinking Madam Butterflies in your garage in the rain! May God comfort you Ann. We are sad but find peace knowing Jeff has been taken home. He was our friend and will always be remembered. Glenn and Carol Johnson.

I was sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. He was the 'big brother' every girl should have, when I needed one the most, so many years ago. May he rest in peace. Jeff, Nicki and I would have been there if we'd known. I heard of your passing two days after the memorial service from a retired Mpls. police officer. Nicki has always held you in her heart as close as she could. You'd be so proud of her. You will be forever remembered as one of the most amazing men on earth. The family mourns.

Even though, at first I didn't know Jeff, I heard a lot of good stories about him on the N. side. When I "retired" from the PD I had the pleasure of working with Jeff at the Impound Lot. What a guy! After my shift, usually driving the van, I would stay late just to talk to Jeff, who worked the booth. Loved to talk with that guy. He loved the Twins! (baseball). He loved life. One of a kind. We'll miss you!

Mr. Drew was a surrogate father and a hero to me growing up (and Diane a mother). Fourth of July picnics, swimming in BP, hanging on the north side, a scary motorcycle ride across the Lowry Ave bridge and all the Twins games at Met Stadium, ditching under the bleachers. I never felt like a guest--always like one of his own. My heart goes to all of you that loved him and were lucky enough to know him. Thank God he lived.

Annie, I just heard of Jeff's passing and I am so sorry for your loss. Just looking at all the people who signed this guest book, it's clear this was a man who was well loved. If you met him, you liked him. He was just so likeable and easy to talk to. God bless you Annie.

Jeff,
when I first met you at the Northside station you were one of the best guys on my shift not only were you a good teacher to show me the "ROPES" around the Northside but also a great guy to hang with after work tipping a few at Rusty's Carburetor shop or the Broadway Bar. After retirement I enjoyed working with you at the Impound Lot. Rest in Peace "Ratso"

Jeff, Anyone who walked their dog in our neighborhood knew you and Annie and, of course, LuLu. You always had a smile on your face and welcomed all to stop for a visit and to let their doggie play with LuLu. You will be deeply missed. Annie, Paul and I are thinking of you during this time. When I first started at 5th Pct, Jeff was one of the "whiskers", someone who had alot of time on, but he never treated me like a rookie. It was an honor when I got the work the squad with Jeff once in a while and he showed me how to treat people right, no matter what their situation but he could also be gruff. When he saw me it was "hey kid, how ya doing", in that distinct voice he had. I will miss you Jeff but thanks for showing me the ropes.

Dear Jeff,
There are so many chapters in one's life. The 2nd chapter in my life began when you asked me to marry you. I was 20 and you were 22 on May 1st 1965 when we were married. Chapter 3 is a great read, our 2 beautiful children were born. Timothy Robert on February 20, 1966 and Kristine Marie on July 11, 1968. We were so happy during those years. You were a good father and loved to take them places to show off and enjoyed being a kid with them. During that chapter you worked at Univac, the US Post Office as a mail carrier for a few years and then our next chapter began when you became a police officer. As seems to happen in many lives, this chapter brought tears and heartache. We divorced and went our separate ways. This chapter was not all sad, you still provided for us as best you could, still took Tim and Kris up to Little Wolf Resort every summer and helped out when you could. The next chapters were full of so much delight, our children married, had children and we became grandparents. Jeff, your last chapter is now written but you were my very first real love, the father of my children and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Annie, Brus and I send our sympathy and prayers for your loss

Jeff was one of my shift partners at the Fifth Precinct. He taught me a lot about how to be a good cop. He was tough as nails if the situation called for it, but not afraid to show his compassionate side to people. He could talk to people and get them to calm down in tense situations. He also had great instincts—knowing when something just wasn't quite right. I will miss him a great deal.
He talked proudly about his family a lot. He was one of those people who worked to live, and didn't live to work. My sincerest condolences on your loss.

Uncle Jeff,
You always accepted me for who I am as I am. You were always so kind and generous and funny too. I always appreciated laughing with you about the funny things politicians do and the humorous things people do in life. And you were so good to my mother, your big sister, Barb. I will miss our times at Christmas together, but rest assured, I will always want to get together for Christmas with the rest of our family members who are still here in your loving memory.
I want my Aunt Annie to know how much I love her too and know that we loved her special partnership with Jeff. To Cousin Kris and Tim, your dad was one of a kind and he will be missed by me forever.
With love,
Cousin Todd

Jeff was a north side cop who was always up beat, had a story to tell and made you laugh.. He was fun to be around. I knew him for most of his thirty years with the Minneapolis Police Dept and respected him for his knowledge of the job and the way he made it look so easy..When he retired his sister, who worked at Orchestra Hall, would update me on his escapades. She thought the world of him and had his sense of humor. Jeff will be missed by those who knew hom but not forgotten....

Also I had the honor of working his last shift with him in 5th Pct. on the day of his retirement, being the tramp of the Sqd. Many good times with him, & he always was there as a dependable partner & friend.
