Jeffrey Karo

Jeffrey John Karo, 76, of Whitehall, PA, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Born and raised in Coplay, Jeffrey was a proud member of the community. He graduated from Whitehall High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Gisella and Joseph Leonard of Coplay, PA.

As a young man, Jeffrey was a talented baseball player. He played first and second base for the Coplay Legion, Whitehall High School, and Rider University, showing a true passion for the game. After graduating from Rider, his professional career focused on industrial sales in graphite for several companies. Later in life, he continued to share his love of baseball by coaching Hokey baseball, inspiring countless young players along the way.

Jeffrey was a lifelong sports enthusiast, an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Yankees, and Notre Dame. His love for these teams was matched only by his enjoyment of golfing, grilling, walking, and watching classic movies. Above all, Jeffrey cherished the time spent with his family, making lasting memories with those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Karo, daughter, Christine Julia, and son, Jeffrey Patrick Karo (Bridget Karo). He was predeceased by his youngest son, Jonathan Andrew Karo. Jeffrey (known as "Pop-Pop") cherished and adored his six grandchildren, Keegan Dean, Ava Grace, Evan Patrick, Braden James, Ronan Jonathan, and Brynn Elizabeth. Jeffrey will be deeply missed by all those who had the opportunity to know him, love him, and experience his friendship over the years.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. David L. James on Friday February 7, 2025 at 10:30 am in Saint Peter Catholic Church 4 South Fifth Street Coplay, PA 18037. Visitation with his family will be on Thursday evening February 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Gilbert Funeral Home 444 Pershing Blvd. Whitehall, PA 18052. There will be NO visitation in Church on Friday. Interment will follow in Saint Peter Catholic Cemetery Whitehall.
