Jeffrey Kinzbach

Sadly, it is many months later that I learned of Jeff's passing. We grew up in same in Silverton suburb of Cincinnati, and went thru grade school and High School together. Sadly after high school life took us in different directions, but it was just a few years ago we exchanged messages on LinkedIn. In the next few weeks our 8th grade class will have a 50 year reunion.....and I will most certainly take memories of Jeff with me to that Reunion.

Dear Michelle and Kate, we are so sorry for your loss. We will have many fond memories of our brief time together at Croton Pond, Picnic Pops, Vevey, Switzerland and Table Rock Lake. Personally, I have benefited greatly through my association with Jeff and his enthusiasm for life. My first involvement with Jeff was when he invited me to join his weekend, sunrise bike rides around Hardy and Croton Dams with his Gerber friends. Even though I was the older, slower guy who recently quit cigarettes, Jeff and crew gave me much encouragement. I began to look forward to these summers at the cottage as I approached my retirement, continuing to develop my stamina for the increased distances Jeff and the others were accomplishing. The pinnacle of my bicycling accomplishment is riding the Tour Du Lac, Switzerland with Jeff when we came to visit in 2011. Even though health issues made it difficult for me to continue distance biking after your move to Missouri, I was happy to be invited to be the SAG driver for two distance rides. This is why I am including a photograph of the group on their 2015 Michigan tour. Rest In Peace dear friend.

Michelle, I am so very sorry to learn of your loss. Although I did not know Jeff, I enjoyed reading the memorial of his amazing life. It is clear he touched so many, in such wonderful ways. Thinking of you and Kate...may you always be blessed with special memories of your life with Jeff...and may he rest in peace.

First time we really rode together was up Chexbres, just a little climb. That was also the first time I heard you protesting .... and yet when we came back you were so happy you made it. For me it represents who you were, happy, strong and determined.
Episode 2: me telling you about an article about a tour from Paris to Nice. You said “let’s do it “ 2 months later you gathered your friends across the ocean and we made our first tour. And again, this represents how you connected to people ,created strong friendships, challenged everyone around you and everyone followed you.
Episode 3, episode 4....... I can continue with a long list that is so vivid in my mind but stopped in the middle
I will always remember you my friend.

Jeff, it's about 10 years ago that our journeys crossed in Switzerland, and the bond created between our families was strong. I remember the cold mornings we would run together by lake Leman – you would say – 'I wouldn’t be here if not for you', and you would smile. I remember business meetings where all you wanted was to show me the progress of the house you were building in Missouri – seeing you so happy by making your dreams come true. Family dinners , watching fireworks by the lake. And later, when you returned to the US, visiting over, sailing your boats, staying with you and Michele and Katie in your beautiful home. And the bike rides and your friendship with Doron. I cherish your authentic spirit, sense of humor, wisdom and kindness.
Meeting you and Michele certainly made an impact on who we are today. Goodbye friend...

So sorry for the loss. We did have lots of adventures. Jeff was truly one of my best friends. Distance had made it hard to visit in person, but I knew he was always a phone call away. Rest In Peace my friend!

I have several fond memories with Jeff. Boating on the Ohio River, Christmas on North Broadlawn, the Holy Family church festival in Oldenburg, Indiana, visiting Uncle Bud's farm in Greensburg, Indiana, where a herd of cows chased us down a hill, and visiting Jeff when he was a student at Ohio State. I will miss Jeff and cherish these memories with my cousin Jeff forever.

We were fortunate to get to know Jeff in Grand Rapids as our neighbor and fellow “biking bud”! Our condolences to all of his family and know our prayers and thoughts are with you.

So very sorry for your loss. Such a great guy, friend and mentor. He had so much love for life and people. My favorite memory - he had received a certificate for some work training program and wanted to display it! They had misspelled his name and he was very carefully trying to change the h to a k! Whoa!! How do I spell my name again? God Speed friend. Always in my heart and prayers. Many thanks to you and Michele for your kindness and hospitality when I was in the dumps.

Dear Michelle and Kate, my deepest sympathies to both of you. I met Jeff through work over 20 years ago, and he spotted something in me and gave me the best career opportunities of my life. He shaped my career from that point, and for that I will be forever grateful. But more importantly we became friends, and that friendship has lasted for over 20 years. The memories of have of spending time with the 3 of of you are some of my happiest. Jeff was a true gentlemen, and will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have met him.

My deepest sympathies to all of the family. Certainly a tragedy to lose him too early. So glad he retired close to his goal age and enjoy life.
Jeff was a good friend, terrific boss and a great guy. In my first "career" job, I learned a lot from Jeff including the importance of including things like softball boating on Lake Grapevine with colleagues.

I was Jeff’s PA when he arrived in Australia with Frito-Lay. He was the one that showed me how valuable I was as a PA and shaped me to become a great EA and the courage to believe in me and what I can do.

One of things I remember fondly of Jeff was his moustache and how it was the only thing that gave away his emotions in a situation.

I remember first meeting him and introducing myself at 23 years of age, and his moustache changing shape. I saw that shape many times in our meetings with the transition of Frito-Lay to Smiths. It was definitely the “what the hell have I got myself into” shape.

I saw that moustache after what was supposed to be a run in his lunch hour at work. He returned 2.5 hours later, exhausted and dehydrated . He had got lost. As he told me where he had gone, I started to giggle when I realised the street we worked on was linked to the highway he was on and if he had taken a left at about the hour mark of his run he would have been back in the office after about 1:15 minutes. I saw that moustache shape again as he dragged himself to the showers.

I remember him knocking a drive-thru wall down in McDonalds while trailling his boat and having to sheepishly tell me he had messed up the car again.

He made me laugh so many times.

I know Jeff had a huge heart with his career and honestly worked to bring his entire team to be the greatest they could be, individually and collaboratively.

I know this greatness would be how he was in his personal life too. It was not something that could be turned off and on, it was part of his soul.

I am truly great for the time I had with Jeff.

Remembering and Honoring my brother Jeff

Kevin Kinzbach: Thank you, Michelle and Katie, for taking care of my brother.

There were four of us siblings, our older brother Jerry, me, our sister Holly, and lastly Jeff, and as the baby of the family he was adored by everyone.
I had always looked forward to his visits. It was always fun to hear about his adventures in far-away places around the globe.

Jeff was an outstanding person and an outstanding brother, an outstanding son to our parents Ruth and Charles. I also want to say that he was outstanding in a way that we understand in our hearts. He was able to accomplish so much in his life here on earth. In our youth there was never a boring moment. He learned at a young age how to be competitive and I think it stayed with him all through his life. Always wanting better for other people, and the best for everybody that he met. It didn’t matter what your income, or your health situation Jeff was just a real good person.

Jeff learned to water ski when he was only nine years old. He could ski but the rope sagged so much the middle of the boat wake because of his light weight. He also learned to ride a unicycle—something that is very hard to master! It was given to us by one of his best friends, Mike McClain, also a boater.

We had many adventures and enjoyed a lot in the outdoors camping, fishing, and bicycling. Jeff was a big sports advocate—never playing professional sports but always involved in youth athletics as he grew up. We enjoyed much in our youth including family time, Christmases, all kinds of excitement, never a boring moment. Jeff never had boredom in his lifetime. He never knew an enemy, always a friend that could take to anybody. I am going to miss my brother immensely.

These treasured memories of Jeff will always live in my heart. His outstanding zest for living life to the fullest will surely continue to encourage those whom he touched to live as he did, with a passion for life and adventure.

Take care and have a good life, I hope to see family and friends soon.

Michelle and Kate my heart breaks for you both! I’m so sorry and it’s so unfair!! A life taken way too soon. Please know my prayers and love are with you in the coming time, I wish I could hug you both so tight! Sending our deepest condolences!!

Michelle and Kate....My heart is filled with sadness to lose such a long time and sweet friend. Jeff was such a sincere, kind and dear neighbor. With a smile on his face and that special twinkle in his eye, he would make you laugh about anything. He was always willing to help just like he did in assisting Jennifer get her internship at Frito during her TAMU days. He was an inspiration, a great leader, a devoted and dedicated father and family man who found the best in people and offered words of encouragement in all situations. Whether you talked to him everyday or once a year, he was always there for you as a friend and confidant. He will be missed by all of us who ever had the pleasure of being his friend. May God give you strength and comfort you through these difficult days ahead. My prayers are with you.

Jeff was such a fun person to be around he made everyone feel special and important and took the time to include everyone. Jeff's vivacious outlook on life was inspiring to us all & he made it more fun for everyone! We will cherish the memories of spending time with him & his family. We miss him so much. Jeff had a contagious zest for life. When our kids were in grade school Jeff was THE neighbor that would spontaneously show up in front of the house towing a bass boat and say, "Let's go fishing". Off we would go on a new night time adventure. Jeff was the catalyst for bringing people together for events in Colleyville, Croton Pond and Branson. We met a number of fabulous people through Jeff's magnetic personality. Our adventures continued with Jeff, Michelle, and Kate that included trips to Europe and an Alaskan Cruise. We also had amazing times rafting, boating, fishing, concerts, car shows and just spending time together enjoying each others company. Jeff is an amazing friend that will be greatly missed. Michelle and Kate we love you dearly and know that our support is with you during this difficult time.

In memory of Jeff : a boss, a mentor, a challenger, an inspirer, a collaborator, and most importantly a friend. I am so glad our paths crossed. You are missed.

Jeff had such a magnetic personality. I owe much of my love for running to him. Thanks for prying me from that treadmill to come run with you. It is a time I will always treasure. Sending prayers of comfort to you and your family.

Jeff -things were always more fun when you were involved. You were so selfless and thoughtful and competitive. You made cousins weekends a blast and made everyone happy to be a Pat of things.
You are loved and already missed

Jeff was inspiring in so many ways; he even inspired our daughter to enter the Food Science industry. We will be forever grateful for helping her land her first internship at Gerber/Nestle. We certainly enjoyed our time with Jeff, Michelle, and Katie at Table Rock Lake. He share in their sorrow. We will remember Jeff for his warm smile, enthusiasm for water sports, and his genuine kindness.

A true gentleman and friend. Jeff was one of the best hires I ever made. You touched so many lives and you will be remembered.

It is with great shock and sadness hearing the news of Jeff’s passing. Jeff was my favourite boss and I appreciated and valued his friendship and mentorship. Jeff changed the trajectory of my career when Frito Lay bought Smiths Snackfoods in Australia and giving me opportunities with Frito Lay and PepsiCo in Asia which I am very thankful for. Catching up with him when visited Australia a few years ago was a real pleasure. Jeff had a presence and energy which made work and life fun, made you want to try harder. Thanks for the memories

All those years and times that Jeff and I were out on the boat fishing we were searching and wanting to catch “Walter”. As I reflect on these time little did I realize that every fish we caught we had Walter, Jeff’s friendship and his wisdom was the greatest catch ever. Peace my friend.

So sorry for your loss. Even though Jeff's time in Fremont was relatively short, he left a lasting impression on all of the Gerber family. He will be missed.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I always enjoyed Jeff’s company and positive fun personality. He was always looking out for others and willing to help unselfishly. I can see why he had such an outstanding career. I will really miss Jeff and his presence around the lake and especially during the 4th of July fireworks at TRL.

As a recent property owner in the neighborhood I didn’t know Jeff as well as some. In what time I did have I throughly enjoyed being around Jeff and enjoyed his humor, conversation, positive and helpful demeanor. My family and I will truly miss seeing Jeff running around the Horizon West neighborhood. May God bless and comfort your family in this difficult time.

Jeff was one of my favorite people in the business world. I loved his passion for wanting to the best - and doing it in the right way. I first worked with him at Frito-Lay in the Asia/Pacific region, then again in the USA at Heller Seasonings and Wrigley. We both did not fit the corporate mold, so we often shared our other ambitions. In fact, Jeff was the reason I was able to leave that world and start my first business. He had left PepsiCo and wanted some help at his new role at Heller. That opportunity changed my life, and for that, I will forever be grateful. I will remember Jeff for always being energetic, driven and supportive. My deepest sympathies go to his family. I hope that knowing he had such a major impact on people like me provides a small bit of comfort.

Jeff was a great friend made through cycling. Always up for an adventure, he pushed you to find more than you thought you had within yourself. I am forever grateful for his friendship. Sending love to Michelle and Katie.

I only got to know Jeff, the last couple years ... I appraised his cars... my favorite was his 57 Chevy... I saw this car before Jeff and was very happy to document this car for Jeff during his restoration.
Jeff's attention to detail was inspiring... his cars showed his passion.
I consider myself very fortunate to have gotten to know Jeff.
The world has lost an amazing person, and I will miss his friendship.. and his next project.
