JEFFREY WAYNE MARTIN

   REFUGIO - Jeffrey Wayne Martin of Moscow, Idaho, died Sunday evening, Oct. 17, 2010, from injuries received in an auto accident near Bovill, Idaho. He was 47.
   Jeff was born Feb. 18, 1963, at Sinton, to Dan C. and Ann P. Wendel Martin. He grew up and attended school in Woodsboro where he graduated from high school. Jeff then attended the University of Texas-Pan American and earned his accounting degree.
   He worked for Alton-Cook in Edinberg and then accepted a position with Quorum Health Resources in Trinidad, Colo., as CFO of Mt. San Rafael Hospital. While there, he met Becky Bridges and they were married in Trinidad, Colo., on Oct. 1, 1994. They moved to Liberty where Jeff served as CEO for Baptist Hospital. In 1996, they moved to Longmont, Colo., where Jeff was employed by Bartkus Oil, a family owned oil and gas distributorship.
   In 1999, Jeff, Becky and their family moved to Moscow, Idaho, where Jeff accepted a position with Gritman Medical Center as CFO, and was soon named President and CEO of Gritman. Jeff worked tirelessly for Gritman and the community, serving on the board and as president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, and was the recipient of the Moscow Chamber Award in 2008 and was named Business Leader of the Year by the Lewiston Morning Tribune. He was active in the Idaho Hospital Association and had served as president, and was named as CEO of the Year by Quorum Heath Resources in 2010. Jeff served on the board of the Inland Northwest Blood Center and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Bodies and Rotary International.
   Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, the outdoors and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest accomplishment was his family, attending all his children's sporting events, concerts, events and will be remembered as a "Great Dad' and a man that never knew a stranger, only friends he hadn't met yet.
   Jeff is survived by his wife, Becky and his children, Darby Claire (age 13), Preston King (age 12) and Emily Paige (age 10), all at their Moscow, Idaho, home. He also leaves his parents, Ann Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martin of Woodsboro; his sisters, Amy Beth Martin of Atlanta, Jill (Ron) Clinton of Carthage, and their children, Curtis and Cade; his father-in-law, John Bridges; and brother-in-law, Scott Bridges, both of Arcadia, La.
   A funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at 10 a.m., at the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome.
   Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, Moore Funeral Home Chapel Refugio, from 6-8 p.m.
   Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Woodsboro, on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Meyersville Cemetery in Meyersville.
