Jeffrey Mazur Obituary
Beloved husband of Barbara H. Mazur. Loving father of Elizabeth (Eric) Levin and Carrie (Jeremy) Elsberg. Proud grandfather of Eli and Eitan Levin and Levi and Raina Elsberg. Dear brother of Sharyn Yulish. Jeff was the consummate optimist who appreciated every moment. He was a State Farm agent in Glencoe for 40 years and a musician who sang in many choirs, and played the guitar in a variety of venues. He treasured his time at his home in Wisconsin and most of all, he loved being with his family. Service Tuesday 1:30PM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Rd, Glencoe, IL 60022. Interment Shalom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NSCI's Edward N. Pinsof High Holy Days Music Fund, Scroll down to "Type" and select the fund listed under Music, Fine Arts & Jewish Culture funds @ www.nsci.org. I went to Shaw high School with jeff, as well as Roselle elementary, and Kirk Junior high school. We went to heist Jewish center together as well. So I guess I need you for many years, and always thought he was a very nice and thoughtful person. In August of 2025 I called him and invited him to our high School 50th reunion, but he graciously declined because of his health situation. I will miss him. Ron Kramer

We just found out about this sad event. Jeff was our agent for nearly 40 years. Every interaction was superb. He was gentle, knowledable, never pushy and homey-a gentle soul. He spoke often of his family and his interests in singing and guitar. We missed him upon retirement and even more so now. May his memory live on forever.

I new Jeff when he & Barbara started dating. He would bring his guitar to our dorm at Case Western Reserve and sing The Canadian Railroad Trilogy as well as Gordon Lightfoot himself. Boys weren't allowed in girls' rooms at that time so he played in the lounge and people gathered around to listen.
I'm so glad I got to see Jeff & Barbara when they came to Oregon last year. He was just buying his cherry red sports car and I'm so glad he to go enjoy it!
