I knew Jeff from the academic side. He inspired me as a scientist, carefully adhering to method and process, brave and open and curious in his thinking, understanding of those who were less so and criticized his beliefs. Jeff showed me what it meant to be a true scientist. Even with all of the media attention he remained the same gentle, humble, patient, giving person he always was. Jeff's way of working and living left lasting impressions on so many people. We have lost a role model for how to learn, how to teach, how to be in the world.

For many years, I've been infatuated with all things Bigfoot. I've always said for me to be 110% convinced that their 100% real I'd have to see one or have some sort of encounter with one myself, but I also have always said I could never just summarily dismissed the case they do exist. Whenever I could catch Dr. Meldrum on TV addressing the subject of Bigfoot or discussing some sort of new potential evidence, I always took time to watch and listen because it was obvious how highly intelligent he was, and how extremely educated he was on the subject of bipedal locomotion in modern humans and in primates. I know he was sure enough a believer in the existence of Bigfoot, and for me he was the one person because of his knowledge and intelligence on the subject that kept me believing. For guys like me, Dr. Meldrum was the conduit or the bridge if you will that could get people like myself to the side to where total belief in the species lived. Smart guy and just from what I saw of him on TV he seemed to be a really nice fellow. I liked the way he seemed to always discuss the subject in a tone which always seemed to be respectful of the beliefs and the feelings of those who maybe weren't believers in the species. May God truly bless him and his family.

So extremely sorry to hear of the passing of such a scholarly gentleman who gave validity to a controversial subject. He will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to become familiar with his shared knowledge and information. May God bless him and his family at this difficult time and always. -D. Krause

I never met Dr. Meldrum but I have watched him for years in his investigation and research on Sasquatch.
Dr. Meldrum made quite an impression on me, not merely as a foremost scientist, but as a very nice and good man. He made such an impression that I grieved when I heard of his passing. May God bless and comfort his family in this time of loss.

My dearest Dr. Meldrum,
You have always been a mentor to me with your ideas that have bucked the mainstream system regarding your hypothesis of the probability of an additional humanoid that could live in our society. I was absolutely shocked to hear that you had passed away, and I feel that it is a complete loss for our beliefs in society regarding Sasquatch. You have always been and always will be our anchor for society to believe that we have not reached our pinnacle of knowledge regarding mankind´s understanding of our environment. I graduated from the University of Idaho and have always been a fan of your research and intellect regarding the possibilities that there is more out there than what we have proof of. You will always be a mentor to me to the magnitude of Carl Sagan and the possibilities of extraterrestrial life in our cosmos. You have always been strong enough to deal with the ridicule of people who do not believe or their minds are so closed off that they cannot believe in the possibilities that there is the possibility of other primates living in America. I have been an avid archery hunter all of my life, and I cannot believe that we know the secrets to everything in our environment here in the Pacific Northwest. I am also reaching the end of my career with my age being 65+. But I believe that there were so many things that you knew of that you did not pass on because of the possibility of ridicule amongst your peers who had their minds closed off to the possibilities. I wish you all the best and I have the upmost respect for you and I am devastated by your passing. Now we need to try and find somebody that can step into your shoes, but will never fill your shoes as you sir or pioneer in your field. I was deeply saddened and taken a back by the loss of you in our profession of primatology. I agree for your family and your colleagues by your loss.
Sincerely yours,
Mark Loaiza
The truth is out there!

Dr. Meldrum gave hope that there is still so much out there to learn not just about Bigfoot but just the possibilities of new discoveries when we decide to ask questions rather than ridicule.

I also just watched the Expedition Files show that featured Dr. Meldrum explaining the new AI Tech review of the Patterson - Gimlin Bigfoot reel that was dedicated to his memory. I was shocked and saddened to hear that he has passed. He was still young too. He was and will continue to be the defining voice on serious Bigfoot research and bipedal motion. My sincere condolences to the family.

Just watched another program where Dr. Meldrum was the expert on Bigfoot, primarily the famous film, and was shocked and saddened to see it dedicated to his memory. I truly believe his legacy will be all the people like myself who used clips of him on various documentaries to tell skeptics "Look!! See?!! What do you think now?!?!"

I have been sitting here watching yet another video in which Dr. Meldrum, is one of the key presenters. Having seen him in various videos, I thought I would like to see if he offered any courses online. To my dismay, I found out he had passed away. Such a great loss not only to the world of science, but specifically the family of serious Sasquatch investigators. Hopefully someone will pick up the torch and keep pursuing the scholarly-based work he so dearly loved.

I was shocked when I saw this news. I like many have met Dr Jeff Meldrum while attending many of his speaking engagements. Jeff will indeed be missed by us all. Why does it seems that we so often lose the good ones too soon. I will always remember his smile and an extended handshake before a word was spoken. His character was of a warm loving man. I hope time gradually softens your loss.
I followed Dr. Meldrum´s screen appearances, writing´s & theories when
& wherever I would find them. With a background in Physical Therapy & much Anatomy studies, I could often understand his explanations further than the average layman. He had such a strong & personable screen presence that, that & the common interest in subject matter made his sudden passing feel more like the loss of a friend. He will be missed, but forever remembered in the quest for proof in what I believe he already knew.
God Bless

"I'm not a BELIEVER in Sasquatch... I have been CONVINCED that they exist" (quote from Dr. Jeff Meldrum in Todd Standings incredible Documentary called "Discovering Bigfoot")
That's probably the single most important and greatest thing anyone has ever said about Bigfoot in the 2.5 decades I've been avidly studying and researching them. When I think of him all I see is his smiling face, great man and one of the greatest Scientific minds of the last 100 years+

I never met Jeff personally, but his impact on my willingness to accept Bigfoot as a real species was greater than anyone ever had on me. As a PhD myself, I appreciated his respect for rigor and yet, his open-minded demeanor and values were truly unusual in my years' experience with other scholars; many are speculative but sloppy, and many are diligent but stubborn, both are great hurdles to real insight. Jeff was the model of an ideal Solomon-like approach to discovery. I will think of him every day, glad that he lives in many documentary films, and pray for his family, which was blessed to have someone in their lives who most of us never got to meet.
With love always,

I am heartfelt sick to hear of Dr. Meldrum´s passing. I was somewhat of a skeptic of Bigfoot until listening to him on different programs. "My sincere sympathies go out to everyone grieving the loss of Dr. Jeff Meldrum.
Even as a non-acquaintance, I felt compelled to share my gratitude for his life's work. Dr. Meldrum was a hero to many for his dedication, integrity, and intellectual openness.
He stood out as a scientist who was unafraid to pursue questions that others deemed too risky or unconventional. His rigorous study of potential Bigfoot evidence gave the field a level of respect and seriousness it rarely received, showing us all the importance of examining evidence without bias.
For many of us who follow the subject, Dr. Meldrum´s research provided not only data, but a sense of validation and possibility. His legacy will continue to inspire those who believe that the greatest discoveries are often found on the edge of the known world. Thank you, Dr. Meldrum, for your courage and your contribution."

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Jeffery Meldrum. His unwavering commitment to scientific inquiry and his passionate pursuit of truth in the field of cryptozoology set him apart as a singular academic force. There will never be another quite like him.
Dr. Meldrum´s groundbreaking research and fearless dedication elevated the study of cryptids to unprecedented heights. Without his tireless efforts, the field would not have achieved the recognition and legitimacy it holds today.
He was, without question, one of the most brilliant, patient, kind, and compassionate scientists I have ever known. His contributions to the advancement of cryptozoological science are unmatched, and his courage in defending a discipline often met with skepticism was nothing short of heroic. Dr. Meldrum risked much to pursue a path few dared to follow, and in doing so, he paved the way for future generations of researchers.
His work-especially in the study of Bigfoot and the analysis of footprint evidence-transformed public and scientific understanding of this elusive subject. The depth of his research and the integrity of his approach will remain a gold standard in the field.
It is difficult to imagine anyone truly filling the void left by Dr. Meldrum. His legacy, however, is indelible. It will continue to inspire both the scientific community and the broader public for years to come. RIP my friend.

Jeff was a childhood friend of mine in Spokane. When I found out he was a bigfoot expert, I contacted him and he immediately sent a brochure to my grandsons, true believers. They couldn't believe I knew this famous scholar. He was a such a nice friend when we were young that grew into a good man, from all I've read about him. It is obvious that he will be missed, both as a scientist and equally important as a good person.
