Ken Polzin, Jr.
November 24, 2013
Condolences to Jeff's family and friends.
I only knew Jeff during our time together at Lance Jr. High in Kenosha.
So, the perspective is from one Jr. Higher about another.
Jeff was already scholastically exceptional. He could do more than get straight A's. I see from pictures of his life he kept the same grinning smile. He really had his “act together” which was remarkable for those of our age who grew up in the 1960's.
He experienced drills in elementary school in case of an atomic weapons attack. There were the assassinations and social unrest. Jeff's interest in science was nurtured by that decade's space race. He even weathered the loss of our beloved Milwaukee Braves to Atlanta.
I remember Jeff as being responsible as well. He even kept his eye wear securely in a case when not being worn.
For those who met Jeff later in his much too short life, I'm sure you treasured your time with him as much as those who only knew him as a youth.
