I had the great pleasure of being one of Jeff’s adult students. His interpersonal and instructional skills were special. He helped me a great deal while never making me feel less than.
May you all find the peace he helped me achieve as you move forward in the coming days.

Jeff is someone that had a significant impact in my life. Im sure everyone that knew him would share that sentiment. He always went out of his way to make everyone welcome and I am going to miss the conversations, the lessons, and especially the 3 hole tournaments we had. We would alternate picking the tees and it was always back as far as possible. Once, we even went behind the tees on 18. My heart aches for the entire family and you are in my prayers. I know Jeff is in heaven and I will see him again. I will miss him until that moment

My deepest condolences go out to The Swanson Family. In my first year in the golf business (2004) I met Jeff and remember him being a man who had much passion for the game. His work with juniors will undoubtedly be remembered for a long time.

RIP Jeff. The Connecticut Section PGA and its professionals will miss you.

My most sincere condolences go out to Ann, Megan, Sarah and the rest of the Swanson family. Hopefully there is some comfort in knowing the sorrow you have is shared by everyone Jeff met. In time, the sorrow will be overtaken by fond memories and fun stories we’ll collectively be telling.
I’ve been lucky to have known Jeff his entire tenure at the Knob. He was always Positive, Witty and Kind. He knew everyone’s name no matter if you were one the regulars or a once-a-year guest. He had special names for many of the men’s club members and we’ll all miss him calling us out upon arrival at the curse. Jeff was always in the moment when having a conversation with you regardless of all the other things going on around him which showed he cared you. He could tell stories and jokes with the best of them. Most of all he was a genuine friend. Our Saturday morning tee time will never quite be the same, rest peacefully buddy.

So sorry to hear of this loss. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. I was in the CKMC when Jeff became pro. My children were young and I wanted to get my eldest son into golf. He was probably around 5-6 at the time. I inquired about golf clubs with Jeff. He asked me, “Is he right or left handed?” I said he swings a bat lefty. Jeff dug up some lefty junior clubs and we set up a time when Jeff could watch his swing. I remember it like it was yesterday. We are standing on the practice tee and Jeff with his hand on his chin asks, “Spike what hand does he write with?” I respond with hmmmm I would think left. He walked over with a pencil and score card and says. Jordan write your name on the score card. Jordan quickly grabbed the pencil with his right hand and scribbled his name. Jeff turned to me and said “You we’re close.”
He will be missed. Toughest when one of the good guys goes. He did so much for so many.

My condolences to Ann, Megan and Sarah. To my buddy Jeff, you were more than a golf pro, you were a friend to everyone. I will miss our laughs about Notre Dame, hockey and talks about family. You always lit up when you talked about Ann and the girls. We will miss you and all that you did for us. ♂

I new Jeff for 25 years. As president of the men’s club for many years the board worked closely with Jeff to bring us up to the 21st century. Jeff was always there for the members. As a member of the fire service Jeff always made the SFD feel welcomed and always donated to the annual fire department tournament. He was a true friend who will be missed by all who were touched by his kindness and generosity. My deepest sympathy to his lovely wife and to his two daughters. You were the love of his life

To the Swanson family,
I had the good fortune to work for Jeff for 17 years at Cedar Knob. But it was really more fun than work. We had many great conversations about everything under the sun. We played cards in the winter and the occasional round of golf when he could sneak away from work. I learned many lessons from Jeff about the golf business and more importantly about life. It felt like he could have been my younger brother. I will miss him tremendously but I will forever cherish the memories.

I offer my condolences to the family who lost a great man and loving father. I joined the Men's Club the same year Jeff took over at the course as the Pro. Jeff had a way of making you feel he knew you forever. The Men's Club will greatly miss his many contributions to keep tournaments running smoothly. I will miss calling for tee times and having the phone answered on the other end " Taco Bell" as Jeff did many times. RIP my friend

To the Swanson family - God bless you and keep you. Your husband and Dad means so much to so many. You may not know it, but he helped a lot of kids in Stafford by helping me put on the little league tournament each year where we raise money for the kids playing baseball and softball. Tremendous guy. Great friend to many. He will forever be remembered each time we tee off at The Knob. God bless you Swany, truly one of the greatest

I met Jeff several years ago when a friend brought me to Cedar Knob for my first time. I immediately felt like I had known him for a long time... what a fantastic and caring guy and a great ambassador of Cedar Knob and golf. He always got a kick out of our "golf gang" that traveled from far away in any weather and played year round Sunday mornings. We will miss him terribly. My sincere condolences to his family...he was so proud of you! RIP Jeff

Please know that my heart is entirely with you all and I truly do hope that only your warmest, funniest and fondest memories fill the immediate and long-term void his passing has created. My sincere condolences to the entire Swanson Clan. Because Jeff was that special kind of person, he would remember everybody's name and greet them as such when they would approach the club house. It will truly be sad and fondly remembered to not hear " Hey Billy Boy" when starting my round of golf at the Knob. R.I.P.my friend and I'll see you on the other side.

Jaime Mailloux

February 24, 2021

I was introduced to Jeff through my father, Len Mailloux, a frequent golfer at the Knob. I was in need of golf lessons so I could play in my brothers annual tournament in which Jeff attended when he could.
Jeff was very easy to talk to and definitely made sure golf was fun. He always made sure to mention how great he heard my brother as a person/ golfer was even though he never met him. He helped my dad pick out a nice new driver for a Christmas gift. He was a genuine humble man and hearing of this loss is devastating. I will pray for you and send my deepest condolences to the entire family and friends.

John Gale, owner of Cedar Knob said it perfectly “Jeff was the Face of Cedar Knob”. Jeff never put himself above us hackers that tore up his beloved golf course and would revel in breaking 90 occasionally. He would smile and say “There you go” Jeff was truly happy for you whenever you improved your game, whatever your skill level. Though my boss, he never acted acted like one. He made you feel like two friends working for players that were enjoying a round of golf that we all love. The Knob will never be the same, but Jeff would want all of us to carry on. My deepest condolences to Jeff’s wife and daughters. Many share your grief. Jeff was one of the great ones.
