Jeffrey Toney

I'm so shocked to just be learning of Jeff's passing. We were co-workers and friends in the 90's. He came to our house many times and had Thanksgiving with us one year. I even pierced his ear one time, he'd never let me live that story down! I moved away to Boston and then to NYC and we lost touch for a while, but FB connected us briefly. What a beautiful, gentle, giving, funny man. I'm so deeply saddened by this news. May he rest in peace...only the good die young.

There are few people you come across in your lifetime that mark you in ways that you will always remember. Jeffrey Toney was one of these personalities. In the time that I knew him, he was always a professional, he had the strength and conviction of a lion matched only by his caring heart. He loved to laugh and took the time to see the good in people and offer help where others might walk away, in short he cared. I could work another 28 years and still not be a tenth of what he was to so many... The world had gotten a lot smaller without you Jeffrey, but I know for certain, heaven has gotten a new soul and rejoices in your welcoming home. Rest well...

I will miss Jeff dearly for whenever I walked through the doors at the Worcester Police Department and was greeted by Jeff it was always my Teddy bear hug and he would just lift me off the ground and squeeze so hard before letting go. He was genuine.

Five days of staring at a screen not knowing what to write about someone known for more than half my life. Although we lost touch for a while, Jeff made a decade seem like a day. I consider it a privilege to have known Jeff and have spent some time in his world.
