Our beloved Gigi
Jenifer Paige McCumber (Gigi) was born October 29th, 1969 in Austin Texas and she went to her Heavenly Home on July 27th, 2022, she was 52 years old. Jenifer is proceeded in death by her parents, Cheryl Molly Alston and David Raymond McCumber. She is survived by her brother Tim McCumber, sister-in-law Amanda McCumber, and nephew Daniel McCumber.
Jenifer had many passions in life, she loved her family most of all. She was adamant that all the kids in the family were her nieces and nephews. She was Gigi from the minute Daniel couldn’t pronounce Aunt Jeni, and she was Gigi from that moment on to Mitchell and Allison Adamek and Nolan and Samantha McCall. She had a very special relationship with Ken and Marie McCall, they considered her their Granddaughter and she called them Papa and Granny and loved them very much. She also loved Ken and Sherrie McCall, they loved her as their daughter and she as much as her own parents. She looked forward to holidays with everyone. Gigi lit up every room she entered and made sure every family gathering was as loud and fun as possible. The gatherings never truly started until she burst into the house, all conversations paused, kids stopped playing, and the whole family came from everywhere to embrace her.
She loved all animals, especially Cee Cee her cat. They would always have the greatest conversations, with Cee Cee loudly exclaiming her thoughts of the day’s events. She enjoyed a loving relationship with Isabel and Barney, her two dogs, the three of them were inseparable. Every night each dog would nudge and push for the best spot on the chair with Gigi, all three would bundle up under the blanket keeping each other warm.
Food was another obsession, Gigi would turn the simplest meal into a culinary experience. Every meal was an event to be enjoyed as happily and as boisterously as possible, and she was always excited to try new and exciting cuisines. She always wanted to get together and figure out how to make something fun. She loved taking Mitchell and Allison to Olive Garden, and she always showed Mitchell how to behave like a Gentleman opening doors for the ladies and how to pay for their dates (with her money of course).
Jenifer had an affinity for all things Sci-Fi, she and Daniel would spend hours talking and sharing books and movies. The two of them shared a lot of late night weekends watching crazy movies and Gigi had a never ending supply of Lucky Charms.
Gigi, we will miss you every day, but our hearts are full knowing you are in heaven now, you are no longer in pain, and are now reunited with Mom and other family members. I am sure that Papa gave you the best hug and the reunion is full of laughter and quite loud.
