Rita M. Torres from Genoa passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, and is now experiencing eternal life.
She worked at Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, Ohio for over 40 years. She had an Associates Degree. Rita worked summer and fall festivals with Tilas Taco food truck.
She enjoyed traveling around the United States, Mexico, and overseas to “The Holy Land”. Rita enjoyed faith activities at Apostolic Restoration Center, Pastor Fred Garcia and Pastor Michelle Garcia, Genoa Christian Church, Pastor Jeanne Davis and attended DAP Ministries of Great Faith Church, Bishop Darrin Phelps, Pastor Annette Phelps, and Minister Kimberly Adkins in Fairfield, Ohio.
She would always greet you with a “How ya doing?”. Rita had a green thumb and her garden would produce an abundance of vegetables and beautiful flowers season after season. She loved life, but wanted simple. She will forever be in our hearts and will be remembered as being genuine, kind, loving, loyal, and dependable.
Family would like to thank all of her care team at St. Charles, St. Vincents, and Hospice. Also, a special thank you to Penny and sons.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving mother, Ninfa Torres; sisters, Florinda “Flo” (Merle) Norwalk, Elizabeth “Lisa”, and Cleotilde “Tila”; and many relatives.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Raul.
