Jennie A. Fiore

Jennie A. Fiore, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Monday May 26, 2008 in Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born March 21, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, she is the daughter of the late Nicholas and Josephine (Minicucci) Fiore. Jennie was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended Niagara Falls High School. For eighteen years, she was employed at Phil’s Restaurant in Lake George, NY. Jennie later worked at the former Tenderloin Restaurant on Main Street in Niagara Falls, and from 1968 until her retirement in 1978, co-owned and operated the former Checkerboard Restaurant on Whirlpool Street in Niagara Falls. In her leisure time, Jennie enjoyed going to the casino. She will be remembered by her family as a loving sister, dear aunt, great-aunt and great great-aunt. Making her day and brightening her spirit was seeing her three great-nephews; Matthew, Mitchell and Mason Shumate. Jennie was always baking, cooking and helping her family. Jennie was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters, Michael (Jay of Niagara Falls, NY) Fiore, Joseph (Marilyn of Niagara Falls, NY) Fiore, Cosmo Fiore, Terry Fiore, Rose Fiore, Dolores Fiore and Mary (late Robert) Mittan. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Karen (Brian) Mann of Niagara Falls, NY, Mary Ellen ‘Mimi’ (Tom) Crane of Sanborn, NY, Roberta ‘Birdy’ Cicero of Niagara Falls, NY, Janet Jackman of Grand Island, NY, Nicholas (Martha) Fiore of Maryland, Joseph Fiore of North Tonawanda, NY, Gary Fiore of Niagara Falls, NY, Lisa Oswald of North Tonawanda, NY, Wendy (Troy) Rank of Fairport, NY; her great-nieces and nephews, Kristin (Matt) Shumate, Kimberly Mann, Brian P. Mann, Michelle (Jerry) Andrews, Marisa (Matt) Martin, Monica (Mike) Makula, Meghan Crane and Robert Cicero. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday, May 30th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Raphael’s Church, corner of College and Macklem Avenues Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
