cousin Mickey Salis

My very dearest cousin Jannie and family, It is with Deepest sympathies and condolences that I remember your dear Mother, my Aunt Jennie, the baby sister of my Dad James V. Salis. With her gone the legacy of the original Salis family is gone. I remember visiting her on many occasions and we would walk around her beautiful flower garden and I would express how pretty the flowers were and how hard I knew she worked with the flowers to give them such precious loving care and it really showed. We had that in common as I love a flower garden as well. And, such an animal lover she was she gave her fur covered babies the best of care and love them dearly, another thing we had in common we love our animal with all our hearts. Also, coming from a fishing family she dearly loved her seafood as do I especially raw oysters. Aunt Jennie, you will always have a special place in my heart with love and deepest respect. I pray you will rest eternally in the peaceful loving arm's of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dear Janie and family,

Remembering your precious Mother, and praying for all of you. Jennie was a wonderful Mother, and sweet woman who loved her family and her pets. May you rest in peace sweet Cousin Jennie.

For Jennie...this poem was taken from an old memorial card of my grandmother in 1890. It's always been special to me.

A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we love is stilled;
A place is vacant in our homes,
Which never can be filled;
God in His wisdom has recalled,
The gift His love had given;
Although she is no longer here,
Her soul is safe in Heaven.
