Jennifer Bouma Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 10, 2025.
Phoenix - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennifer Ann Bouma.

Jennifer was the daughter of Phoenix attorney John J. Bouma (deceased) and is survived by her mother Bonnie Bouma, her brother Jeff Bouma, her 2 sisters Wendy Jagoda and Laura MacKay, as well as their respective spouses Elizabeth, David, and Brian, her 12 nieces and nephews and Piper, her dog and constant companion. She was 54 years old.

Jennifer was born on November 9, 1970, in Phoenix AZ. She attended Madison Simis Elementary School and Madison Meadows Middle School before attending Sunnyslope High School, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. Jennifer practiced employment law in Phoenix at Snell and Wilmer LLP, a locally based regional firm. Jennifer's greatest passion was travel and adventure, and after leaving Snell & Wilmer, she worked as a travel agent in the emerging field of luxury adventure travel. Jennifer was an avid traveler who was always ready to pack her bags and see the world. She often travelled with her extended family and was a constant companion to her parents as they and their friends toured the wonders of the world. She also greatly enjoyed the time she spent volunteering at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys, where she could engage in her favorite water sports, boating and scuba diving.

Jennifer's father was an avid hunter, fisher and outdoorsman who passed on his love of Arizona and its numerous opportunities to fish, hunt and camp to his children, especially Jennifer. Jennifer grew up on the lakes of Arizona. She was especially fond of Lake Powell, which she described as her spiritual place, where she had created a lifetime of experiences and memories on houseboat trips with friends and family. She was a truly fun and vivacious person who cared for others deeply and was always willing to help. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held November 2, 11am at Phoenix Country Club. Close friends and family are welcome to a reception following the service. Please RSVP by October 24th at http://forms.gle/PFnG1ygVNwkZ2YJX9
