Irene D. Huffman, 77, of Milan, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Ridgecrest Village in Davenport, IA. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church of Davenport. Inurnment will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the First Presbyterian Church of Davenport. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.

Irene was born in Joliet, Illinois on October 8, 1947, a daughter of Bernard J. and Dorothy (Chaney) McShane. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University.

Irene married James E. Huffman on November 29, 1969 in Joliet, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1999.

Irene was a wine educator and international wine judge for many years, retiring around 2016. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Davenport.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kimberly Dorman, Sebring, Florida; grandson, Devon (Haiven) Durham; great-grandchildren, Liam and Lucy Durham; and brother, Raymond (Lynda) McShane, Minooka, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Clara Newbold.

Irene was always such a gem. She was very sweet, loving & kind. Always had advice & kind words. I'm really going to miss her & that smile. Sorry for the heartache& pain her lived one are going thrift. I pray you find comfort in your memories. I know she touched my life, & I'm sure she touched many other's hearts as well.
