Jennifer MEAKIN Obituary
Peacefully in Hospice at May Court on Friday, February 10, 2017. Loving daughter of Jean Meakin and the late Canon Allan Meakin. Beloved mother of Thomas, Megan and Peter. Cherished by her sister Andrea Laurin (Dennis), their children Max and Avery and loved by her brother John Meakin (Cathy). Also sadly missed by her extended family, friends and her teaching community. Jennifer was a graduate of Trent University, Queens University, Faculty of Education and was a teacher with the Ottawa Catholic School Board. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Fung Kee Fung and his team at the Ottawa Cancer Centre of the General Campus, the staff of the Ottawa Hospital General Campus and Dr. Bloom and staff of the Hospice at May Court for their loving care and kindness. Tom, Megan, Peter, It was only today that I learned about the loss of your beloved Mother. I am sadden at the loss of such a beautiful person who cared deeply and passionately about her wonderful children.Although I only taught you Tom in grade 3 and a second time in grade 5, your honest work ethic, politeness, and concern for others, were an example of her positive influence on you. Jennifer was in my first grade 9 phys. ed. class when I started teaching at Arnprior District High School. She was a good athlete and a kind and considerate person with a good sense of humour. I was so sorry to hear of her health struggles. Our condolences to the whole family

I am so very sad to hear about Jennifer's passing, and sorry to have been out of town for the funeral. Jennifer ('Meaks') was a very good high school friend and I will always remember her for her kindness, sense of fun,and positive nature. We had many great times and good laughs together, on ski trips, hanging out at her house, and at school. I feel very fortunate to have known her. I am glad to know she has 3 children as I know she would have been such a wonderful, loving mother, and her spirit will be passed on through her children. My condolences go out to all of her family members and friends.

I am so sad to hear of Jennifer's passing. Jennifer was a good friend of mine in high school in Arnprior, and I will always remember her for her kindness, good humour and sense of fun. Her parents very generously let us 'hang out' at their house, and were such a welcoming family. I am happy to learn that she has 3 children that she could share her unbounding love and spiritedness with.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jennifer as a friend and colleague at CRA(summer students!) and then later on as a teacher to my nephews in Richmond. Even now as I think of our time together it brings a smile to my face! She was kind and generous, playful and mischievous!!!! What an infectious laugh.
