She was born Feb. 22, 1991, in Worcester, Mass., a daughter of Xiannong Meng and Hong Liu.
Jennifer would have been entering the ninth grade at Lewisburg Area High School this fall.
She loved music and reading, especially mysteries and the classics.
Jennifer was a distinguished honor roll student. She played the violin, flute and piano.
She was a member of the Amadeus Youth Orchestra in the Central Susquehanna Valley as a middle school student, and also the Donald H. Eichhorn Middle School orchestra and band.
Jennifer attended Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewisburg, where she was a member of the orchestra.
Because of her high SAT scores, Jennifer qualified for the Johns Hopkins Talent Search in 2004. She was chosen as a peer mediator while in the middle school; participated in the China Club at Susquehanna University; was active in the local Chinese community; and was a previous member of the Hemlock Council of the Girl Scouts.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are one sister, Alice Meng, and one brother, Christopher Meng, both at home; and her paternal and maternal grandparents living in China.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Marlow Hall at RiverWoods, 3201 River Road, Lewisburg, where the funeral will follow at 11 with the Rev. Brian D. Vasey officiating.
A luncheon and fellowship will follow the services in the social hall of Beaver Memorial United Methodist Church, South Third Street, Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jennifer's memory may be made to the Child Life Department, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822-2742. This is a volunteer program at Geisinger Medical Center to make young patients' hospital stays more cheerful and was very meaningful to Jennifer.
