Jennifer "Jenny" Lorraine Sorrells, 59, of Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 9, 2023. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on August 22, 1963. She was the daughter of Ron and Phyllis Lynas.

Jenny graduated from Bloomington High School North in 1981. After graduation, she attended Vincennes University. Jenny worked for MCCSC at Rogers Elementary as the Lead Administrator Assistant for many years prior to retirement in 2022.

Jenny was an avid gardener and enjoyed all outside activities. She loved working in her large garden and flower beds. She loved being with family and friends, decorating for holidays (Easter was her favorite), along with hosting get-togethers for all. She loved spending time at the beach and was a big fan of I.U. Basketball.

Jenny was preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Sorrells; and grandparents, Roscoe and Dorthea Lynas and Walter and Anne Day.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Sorrells; daughter, Christin (Logan) Sylvester; grandsons, Lane and Clayton Sylvester; parents, Ron and Phyllis Lynas; brothers, Jeff Lynas, Jason Lynas, Jon (Katina) Lynas; brothers-in-law, Richard (Tana) Sorrells, Jim (Lori) Sorrells, Charles (Kristin) Sorrells, Kenny (Angela) Sorrells; sister-in-law, Angie Sorrells; and mother-in-law, Mary Jo Sorrells; along with many nieces, nephews, and countless of friends that she loved so much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37, Bloomington. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bloomington High School North Swim Club.
