Ed was favorite artist since we first met some 35 years ago. I carried his work in all my galleries and marveled at his talent and wry humor. I will miss him always and consider myself privileged to have called him my friend. Charlavan Hart

I met Ed Strain in 1960 when I was a teenager working with Harold Fierce's Graphic Arts Associates. He was unforgettably kind and talented and provided a great model to a youngster learning graphic design and layout technique. Art is the one true immortality and many who never saw or knew him were touched by his gentle genius.

Dearest Strain Family,
It was with great sadness that we learned of Eddie's passing. In 1976 we were all a part of the original homeowners on our street. Joyce and Eddie watched my two sons grow up from babyhood. They are now married with families of their own.
One of my most precious memories about Eddie is in regard to a Christmas gift. As we were a teacher's family money was always tight. One Christmas my husband traded some plumbing work for a beautiful and signed print by Eddie and my husband and the boys gave it to me as a Christmas gift. It hangs proudly in my home today. It will always be there to remind me what a precious man Eddie was. May God's loving grace cover you as you walk through this difficult goodbye.
With all our love,
The Harrells

Eddie will be missed around the street. I always enjoyed his dry since of humor. He was a kind and very sweet man. I too am honored to have known this sweet man.

Eddie was one of my oldest and dearest friends. We worked as artists together in Dallas in the 1960's. He had a quick wit and marveolous talent. He was always an un-sung hero in the art world, but anyone who ever knew him was impressed with his talent.
Eddie will be missed by all who knew him. I was honored to be his friend for over 50 years. Jim Gough
