1944-2017
Jenny Sue McGee Jenkins, 73, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. Sue, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend was born on March 2, 1944 in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Dorothy Schinnick McGee; brothers, Martin McGee and Wayne Claybourne; and infant son, Roger Matthew Jenkins. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James "Jim" Clifford Jenkins; daughters, Carrie Chow, Julie Rankin and her husband David, Tracey Gergen and her husband Matthew; son, Chris Jenkins; grandchildren, Kristin Gergen, Bailey Jacobs and her husband Jordan, Dustin Rankin, Carla Chow, Steven Gergen, and Tanner Rankin; great-granddaughter, Nora Jacobs; and fur babies, Bitsy and Claire. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017, from 5PM to 8PM with a celebration of her life starting at 6:30PM. The service will take place at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77008. In lieu of flowers, Sue would want all your love and support to go toward one of her favorite organizations, The Houston SPCA. Sue was always an animal lover, and in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the Houston SPCA could use all the help they can get.

I knew "Sue Sue" when she was probably 2 and I was 5. We played with our Toni dolls on her front porch. She was so cute and sweet. I lost touch when my family moved when I was 15. She is a beautiful bride in the video and she and James look she they had a happy life together. I never forgot she was born on Texas Independence Day! I will always love my little friend.

I feel very blessed to have known Sue. Her love for her family was unparalleled and she was greatly loved in return. I know she will be missed and offer our greatest sympathy. The beautiful photo attached of Sue and Tracey is from my and Ryan's wedding 21 years ago. I hope it brings a smile.
