Celebrating the life of Jephthah K. Ashmeade (11-07-1932 – 04-28-2014). Jephthah K. Ashmeade departed this life for eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2014. Jephthah was born in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica West Indies to parents Leslie and Edna Ashmeade. Jephthah moved to Brooklyn, NY from Jamaica in 1969. He later moved to Palm Bay, Florida in 1996. Jephthah enjoyed singing in the church choir, acting, gardening and fishing. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrews, Pride of Palm Bay Mechanic Lodge #5, and volunteer VCOP of Palm Bay, FL.

Jephthah leaves to mourn his loving wife of 58 years Verbena Ashmeade; Son Kirk (Tony)and Daughter-in-Law Iris Ashmeade, son Richard Ashmeade, step Son Neil (Trevor)Palmer, daughter Jacqueline & Son-in-law Charles Emmons; brothers Kelvin (Vinnie) Moulton, Webster Ashmeade, Trevor Ashmeade, Philip (BAZ) Ashmeade, Alton Ashmeade; sisters Eleise (Nellie) Ashmeade-Jones and Hope Ashmeade; grandchildren Erica, Sean, Robert & wife Jessica, Nykia & husband Oz, Imani, and Sophia; great grandchildren Jordan, Evan and Karina and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitations and Lodge Ceremony will be held Thursday, May 8th at Fountainhead Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be held at Church of the Blessed Redeemer, 1225 DeGroodt Rd, Palm Bay, FL, Friday May 9th at 11:00 am. Viewing begins at 10:00. Arrangements under the directions of Fountainhead Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Jephthah (Jeff) Ashmeade's name to the Church of the Blessed Redeemer Building Fund. My original entry had disappeared,anyway just want to say my brother Jephthah was a wonderful person,he was always kind and loving towards me. He was never selfish,he loved his family,friends and his community. He always plays jokes on me when he calls pretending to be someone else,he was a very special brother,love you R.I.P.

You and me
We spoke in poetry.
It's only appropriate I say goodbye just the same.
My eyes leak sorrow
As my pen spills sadness of today and tomorrow.
Putting a pen to paper to express life,
A talent passed on from you to me.
You were so much to so many.
I will remember you as the strong, loving, and talented man brimming with life
Along with that infectious laugh
It' was truly like no other.
Thank you for all you were.
Forever in my heart you will be the grandest of fathers... My Dear Grandfather.
