Jeremy M. Bair

SHEFFIELD -- Jeremy M. Bair, 31, of 518 South St., Tacoma, Wash., died of a heart attack Oct. 21 at home. Before moving to Washington four months ago, he had been a resident of Ashley Falls.

Born in York, Pa., on June 24, 1976, son of B. Randall Bair and the late Elizabeth R. Novicki, he was a 1994 graduate of Mount Everett Regional School and a 2003 graduate of the New England Culinary Institute in Essex Junction, Vt.

While in Berkshire County, Mr. Bair was employed by the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge as a cook. Before that, he was employed by Jack's in Housatonic, by the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, by Sage Dining services and by Devonshire Estates in Lenox.

He was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church and enjoyed camping, hiking and gourmet cooking.

He leaves his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Norma Rote Novicki of Ashley Falls, and his fiancée, Farrah Walicki of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jeremy M. Bair, who died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. John Lis. Burial will follow in Ashley Falls Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tomorrow from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy in Jeremy's memory be made to the Jeremy Bair Scholarship Fund for Culinary Arts, in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Mr. Bair also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins.
