Just learned of the passing of Jem as he was known to many. Lovely man & I can remember our many moments together at Teather's in 1991 chuckling over the lost old market. RIP Jem.

I've only just learned about this. He was my Chairman at Allenby Capital whilst I was CEO. Inspirational for me. Loved the man x RIP. Always meant to take him to Lords with me and never did.

I knew Jeremy in his earlier days, when we worked together at Hoblyn and Co., before they ceased trading, he a partner and myself a secretary. He was good, kind and generous, with a terrific sense of fun. He was always leaving his umbrella on the train. One morning he was late in, he had been to British Rail lost property to buy a bunch of umbrellas. I said, you probably have one or two of your own there - he had left the whole lot on the train! My deepest thoughts are with his beloved wife Mary and his family. There are not many around like him now.

So very sad Mary. Jeremy was such a lovely bloke. You and your family are foremost in my thoughts.

He was the second person I met when I went up to Cambridge in 1960. I always enjoyed his company, albeit infrequently, in the 58 years that followed. He hardly changed over that period, having the same youthful charm with a touch of flamboyance. I shall miss him.
