Jeremy Raymond Geffen

He was a superior Doctor but even a better person. Very caring about his patients. He made a difference in Oncology and is greatly missed. He was my Dr. in 2001, who had stuffed animals in the chemo room and a very caring staff. IT was not dreary or depressing. They all signed his book. It is sad Losing him so young.

I had the extreme privilege of working with Jeremy after hiring him as the first permanent Medical Director of the Mission Cancer Center. I will never forget him, or the many lessons that I learned from him.

Jeremy was a true professional - expert, compassionate, focused, engaging and never tiring, even in the most difficult circumstances. My prayers for his recovery went unanswered, so I must believe that there is a greater purpose.

I had the pleasure and joy of working with Jeremy Geffen for only a short time in which his impat is long lasting. My wish for him is everlasting happiness and peace.

I do not personally know Jeremy Geffen and I only became aware of him in the wee hours of last night.
While attempting to clean up my emails on my computer, I happened upon one from 5 years ago, sent by a friend who used to attend meetings with a Richard Sann in Boulder. I recalled having heard good things about Richard, so, out of curiosity, I googled his practice.
In a round about way, I found myself pulled into reading a compelling blog written in March of 2015 by a Jeremy Geffen. I felt a deep compassion for this unknown person's trials by fire and his willingness to share his experiences in such an honest, innocent and interestingly written manner.
To my surprise, I went on to learn that he himself was an oncological physician. I read of his heartfelt expression of love and gratitude for his devoted partner, Kristina, whom had been so fortuitously traveling with him on this long and ironic journey.
I found myself genuinely caring for these people and in an attempt to learn of Jeremy's current condition, I cautiously googled further, only to discover what I had feared, and thus I arrived at this very guest book.
It is unusual to be drawn into a total stranger's life situation while in the midst of cleaning up ones emails. It is much more unusual to learn that this same person had concluded their brave and long 4-year journey on the VERY DAY that I had come to "know" him; perhaps even while I was immersed in reading about him.
The synchronicity moved me enough to share my experience in hopes that it might be of some comfort to remember that Jeremy Geffen still has the capability of "touching" people in unknown and beneficial ways, simply by virtue of his willingness to have shared his vulnerability and truth.
I hesitated before sharing in a sacred place such as this one, typically reserved for friends and family. My genuine intent is to let those who will be mourning remember that ones life can CONTINUE to have far greater impact than we may realize.
Healing wishes for your losses and my best to Jeremy on his many adventures yet to come.
