Wow, had no idea... Jeremy was my best friend Sr year of HS, but we lost touch after that when I went off to UO and he embarked on his own path. Just thought of him out of the blue at lunch, made me think way back of cutting 4th period w/ him so we could take a longer lunch and go jetting around in his 914 (I still think of that too when I'm revving around in my little whip) ~ so I just randomly googled him up and it's still pretty shocking news even though it was over a decade ago now. I recognized his kinda impish half-grin immediately in the pic though, even minus all the long hair from our teenage days. Craziest part was I've lived right here in Eugene almost all this time and spent several years as an OCF regular too, but managed to completely miss crossing paths or hearing anything about the memorial; life is so strange. RIP, my friend.

Jeremy, you are dearly missed in Oman, but there are still many "Arrrs" said in your honour! You'll always be my favourite pirate!

I never knew Jeremy, but I found his obituary interesting and moving. It sounds as if he had a life that was very well lived, and I offer condolences to friends and family he left behind. He sounds like a wonderful person!

This is such sad news to hear. I haven't seen Jeremy since our father Ray died in 1999. Unfortunately, I did not have a close relationship with our father or Jeremy but he had such a sweetness about him. He talked of going abroad, and was very excited about teaching in other countries. He celebrated life and certainly touched those who had the good fortune to know him. His gentle spirit will be with us always.

I am so sad to hear about Jeremy. He, his dad, my daughters and I made that first trip to Europe together in 1979.... three children enjoying London, Paris, Switzerland, etc. together with Ray and me. I remember his intelligence, curiosity and kindness.

Tears sting my eyes as I sip coffee this beautiful morning. I haven't thought of Jeremy in many years -- I went to South Salem High School -- and maybe even Walker Middle School (?) -- with Jeremy and haven't seen him since. When I think of Jeremy, I think of a shy, quiet, kind boy with floppy dark hair and a super-sharp mind. In high school, he was a lovely, soft-spoken person and I'm sure that never changed. It sounds like he lived a full life and had many global adventures and I trust he will watch over his many dear friends as they miss him madly.
