I used to pal around with Jeremy in 1960 & 61 when I worked at the Del Coronado Hotel in the early 60's. He had just started the Aquanauts for CBS to combat the success Lloyd Bridges was having with Sea Hunt on a competing network. He had a particular fondness for the " Mexican Village Restaurant " in those days. Sea Hunt won.

I was blessed to grow up in Encino & become best friends with Jef & hung out with the family.
When Jeremy moved into a Laurel Canyon bachelor pad while filming "True Grit," we spent many weekends up there with Good friends.
I vividly remember Jef calling and asking me to play bass on the demo of "How Come Everytime I Itch I Wind Up Scratching You, which was picked up by Glen Campbell.
All my memories of Jef, Jeremy, Bev & the Slate family are warm & special.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
I would love to reconnect with Jef.

Dear Jeremy, I would have loved to have met you in person prior to your leaving us, your fans! You were an amazing actor and a man, for the eyes are the mirrors of the soul, and your soul had to have been beautiful. I, and we, will and still do miss you, and we re-live your mega talents in your filmography. You are in my prayers and I pray that you are in Paradise! In the Eternal Life I plan on looking you up, my friend!!!

For Jeremy...You co-write and
starred in the film Hells Angles.
It was truly a memorable performance.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

I knew Jeremy as a part of his "Run for Peace" organization in 1970. He traveled to campuses using reverse role playing between students, police and campus officicals. His politics were about Peace and Communication. He did something about the problems, with love and compassion. He really cared. God Bless, Jeremy. You left the world a better place because of your talents.

There was this little girl living in Buenos Aires, and she had two heroes, Larry and Mike, The Aquanauts. As a grownup woman, I still remember them fondly. Thank you Larry for all those dreams you inspired and all the wonderful moments glued to the TV dreaming away that I too would be an Aquanaut.

I'm also saddened to hear of Jeremy's passing. I wonder how many people remember his short-lived 1960's TV series with Ron Ely on CBS called "The Aquanauts". It was a great California-based ocean adventure series and helped quench the thirst of us Midwesterners for scenes of west coast living. Thank you Jeremy....
