I took classes with Jeri in our freshman year at Michigan State. I was thinking about our time together at MSU today and found out sadly online that she had passed away. In my mind she will always be that young and beautiful young woman with peaches and cream complexion and wonderful green eyes. She was a very special girl, giving and kind. I can see that she was much loved and that is how it should be. She was a good friend.

I worked with Jeri for over 10 years and found her to be one of the most dedicated people I have ever known. Her knowledge and compassion were evident to everyone. I too always looked forward to and enjoyed Jeri's Christmas treats. She was so generous and was there for anyone in need. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jeri's family. I know that she cherished you

I was blessed to have the opportunity to work for Jeri as a nutrition educator to then get promoted a couple of times thanks to her support and encouragement. I admire Jeri's extensive knowledge of nutrition and the WIC Program, her Spanish was perfect and her sensitivity to cultural differences was unique. I met Jeri in 2003 when I started my career with the Health Department in Palm Beach County, she will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to her family.

My sympathies to Bev and Julie. I worked with Jeri's Dad, Russ at WLBK in the late 60's and I remember Jeri being a big help to her Dad in the radio booth at so many football games. Rest in Peace Jeri.

I was so sad to learn of Jeri's passing. We had known each other for a long time. I met Jeri in 1990 when I started working at the health department in Palm Beach County. Jeri was always so generous with her help and knowledge. I would often call her to ask a question about WIC and she was always right there with the answer and encouragement. I've been looking at some photos from the old days and can't remember when the pictures were taken. Jeri would have remembered the exact date and year! Jeri was creative, smart and a wonderful teacher. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I have fond memories of Jeri while working at WIC. She was an amazing teacher of the professional staff, but had a true passion for teaching clients. I would always turn to her for advice of how to do things pertaining to WIC procedures, she was the expert! We had a special bond and she even came to my home one time for Christmas day and spent time with my kids playing games. She had a huge heart and was a very genuine person. She will be missed! My sympathy to the family.

I knew Jeri for 20+ years in the WIC Program in Palm Beach County. What I remember most about Jeri is her smile, her Irish sense of humor, her deep love for her family, her love of cooking, quilting, art and music, her chuckling laughter and her effervescent enthusiasm to support and advocate nutrition and breastfeeding for thousands of families.
As the Breastfeeding Coordinator in WIC, I very much appreciated Jeri's support, especially back when it was not popular to breastfeed or even discuss it. I was always impressed by how she prioritized the well-being of her WIC clients...she truly cared. We all knew she had a plethora of diverse knowledge, but also enjoyed learning and researching more, and sharing with clients and staff.
Jeri is at Peace now with God and her Heavenly Angels. I wish her beloved family God's Grace and Blessings.

So sorry to hear this news. I worked with Jeri for many years. She was a very sweet and caring person. I remember eating the wonderful goodies she made for the holidays. When I was pregnant with my first child (who is now in his 20s) she hand stitched 2 bibs as a gift--which I never used since they were so beautiful. I still have them.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jeri's family. I remember vividly all the times Jeri and I spent together in our younger days and will always remember her laugh, her brilliance and her spirit. I'm happy to say we spent a few hours together 10?, 15? years ago, when Jeri happened to be in town to help her mother here in DeKalb, IL, after extraordinary rainfall had caused water problems for her mother. Our hours of conversation then felt as if there hadn't been that much time that had passed. It's nice to read everyone's comments, and to know she remained very much the same friend I knew in Sycamore through junior high, high school and our young lives after that. She was already a woman of conviction, even as a young woman in high school, encouraging us all to support the cause of ZPG (zero population growth) and to care for our fragile planet. We'll hold you in our hearts, Jeri.

So sorry to hear that we lost Jeri. We shared a lot of personal time together as well as worked together.
Not a lot of people know how giving Jeri was. So many times I saw her take from her own pocket to share/help others. No matter what she was going through, she always found ways to help. I always admired that.
Sending hugs from Palm Beach County.

I worked with Jeri starting in 1995. She was an excellent nutritionist and knew everything there was to know about the WIC Program. She used to make delicious Christmas cookies every year and share with all the staff. Even though we didn't keep in touch after I left the program, I am so very sorry to hear that she has passed away. Prayers to her family.

I enjoyed working with Jeri. Her dedication to WIC was superb. I am so sorry for her depart. But I know that Jeri served a God who did not want to see her suffer anymore pain and took her into His peace. I pray for comfort and strength for the family during this transition. I will miss her. God bless you all.
